Same here for about ~10 years, neither the cigarette lighter nor the passenger footwell ever cut out on 997 or 991. Not sure who the OEM for the Charge-o-mat is (says made in Germany) but it’s been fine.

I don't mean to hijack this thread but it relates... I have read that you can have a lithium battery as opposed to the stock one .. . if you do not have Li.. can you switch to an Li ... and if you do are there any issues? I'm in the process of getting a new battery and of course based on this thread, the tender will prevent the loss of codes and such .. so do I make the switch across the board or replace with stock and the associated AGM battery tender or move to Li?

thanks for your insight ...

Put in a lithium battery to save many pounds, and get an appropriate maintainer.

Quick update... I put the car on the CTEK charger for about 24 hours. The charger indicated that the battery was fully charged. Disconnected everything and it fired up immediately! Success!

Thanks again for all the help!
