I have probably 250,000 miles combined driving sports cars, 0 moving violations of any kind. Use radar detectors, waze, and common sense.

Dont use escort radar as they dont have good range. Use uniden r7 like very long range radar detectors. But before anything else, use your head. Dont speed when others are around. Dont speed when you cannot see the other end of the curve. Not because a cop could be hiding but because a soccer mom who is on her phone crossing the double can hit you head on. Common sense is key.

If you are driving on public roads like a race track, that is very wrong. You will hurt someone one day or yourself. This is very irresponsible. Please dont do this.

I’m pretty sure you just dont pay enough attention. And why in this day and age not use a $400 radar detector? It will probably pay for itself in 1 week. Imagine how much your insurance premium will be after 2 speeding tickets.

You need to speed, these cars are built for track use. I've been doing it for over 20 years while actively working. I've gone as far north as Mosport in Canada, and as far south as VIR in, well, Virginia. Took my family and made a family vacation out of some trips. No more excuses!!.
Nice, nice. Thanks for this, I’ll look into it and hope to see you out there this year. I’ve topped out at 150.1 on the front straight before standing on the brakes entering turn 1. Terrifying. Do they force cars into the bend on these weekend days? Or can you hit the kink straight on. I’ve always wanted to try the latter but it’s never open on the Tuesday open track days I’ve attended.

Tiring of all the false alarms, I replaced my trusty longtime V1 with a new V1 Gen2, but it died after a month or so. I sent it in right around the time Valentine shut down for CoVid, and couldn't get any response for over a month.
Extenuating circumstances, I know. I finally found a friend who knew them personally, and they agreed to replace it... once they were allowed back into their factory.

While waiting, I did lots of research and bought a Radenso Pro M. I love it. Small form factor, and fewer false alarms than any detector I've ever tried.

When the new Valentine came, I gave it to my son. I HIGHLY recommend the Radenso!

Was driving my TTS the other day on the highway, pass by a Gt2 RS driving perfectly and some insane bimmer in an m3 starts swerving in and out and literally puts multiples lives at risk. Guys like that deserve to be locked up.
You're not wrong but some of that is because the guys in the Imprezas and BMWs are in their twenties and the guys in the GT3s, McLarens and Ferraris are in their 40s+ (in general). I know this because I had an M3 in my 20s and I drove like an a$$hole and now I have 3 Porsches, a Ferrari and an Aston Martin in my 40s and I drive like a responsible adult (and parent).

If by the "bend" you mean the small road before the kink, the answer is no. You go straight towards the kink, and either brake or breath the gas depending on how big your you-know-whats are. There's no run off, there are are a lot of streaks on the left concrete barrier, so I would say the kink is the scariest part of the track because it's hard to gauge max safe speed there. Me, I brake. LOL!!

What I do:

1. V1
2. Waze
3. Use common sense
4. Have a good lawyer to change speeding ticket into a parking ticket.

The only time I got pulled over was in west Texas. The trooper wanted to check out the car. Most are car people. We had a good chat and he gave me a warning since I dion’t have a front plate. I don’t drive it on the street anymore. I picked up a 718 for the road.

Get a attorney and fight them . Call Ticket clinic in Florida , they have name of attorneys that will fight any ticket in any state.
I have no points I get an average of 2 tickets per year

It was like that in Colorado and California when I lived there. No second chances on warnings anymore. Side note- got a speeding ticket in NC 1991. Deployed for 6 months, came back and no issues, no summons, no bench warrant, good to go. Fast forward 30 years and I apply for a Florida license. There like "sir, we have reciprocity with NC and you are a bad citizen and we won't issue you a drivers license". I'm like 'fine, next time don't send me off to war before my court date' At least NC allowed me to mail in my court fees so I didn't have to physically drive there. They had to dig out a microfiche machine to see what my fine was.
Damn, thats harsh by FL. How does one ticket cause that? Thank you for your service.

Yea, when pulled over, I have been asked about previously times I have been been pulled over, they definitely know and seemed to be okay with me. I might just have a friendly face or something to get out of these. My friends have been in the car when I have gotten out of tickets, they said it looked like flirting (both of us guys) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ what ever works, lols.

Last time I was pulled over was going to pick up my GT3 in my Golf R, no front license plate and 70 in a 65 and he was sitting in the medium of a highway

Cop - You know why I pulled you over?
Me - No front license plate.
Cop - Yep, you know its required?
Me - Yep
Cop - Car new or something?
Me - nope had it for a year
Cop - did you lose the front one?
Me - Nope, sitting back in the garage
Cop - Just didnt have time to put it on?
Me - nope, just dont like how it looks
Cop just staring at me like, come on man, I am giving you all the outs here to justify you not having the front plate on, stop telling me you intentionally left it off.
Me - Just to warn you, in about an hour I am going to be headed back in the other direction with me in a Gt3 and the wife driving this, both no front license plate. If you want to give me all three right now, it might save you time (joking smile on my face)
Cop - well I would never pull over a gt3 without a front license plate, that would just look wrong.
We both laughed and he gave me a warning. But I did put the plate on after that so I only had one car without a front plate.

Ok, so we’re into ticket stories now.

Was at a friend's house just jawing one gorgeous spring Sunday. Got a call from the ER about someone with belly pain they wanted a surgeon to check out. So I head out, got to the highway where there was construction, and one semi kindly let me into a long line of semis. We all trundled along one lane for about 10 miles. Finally escaped the train and got on it into the left lane. As I passed the lead semi along a curve, I saw the cop in the distance. I checked my speed, I was 80 in a 65. His lights immediately came on. I didn’t bother pretending to be innocent. I just pulled over. He didn’t move his car more than 10 feet. Big cop saunters over.

Cop: What’s the rush?
Me: I got a call to the ER about a patient with abdominal pain.
Cop: So, it’s an emergency?
Me: Well, it’s just abdominal pain and……..
Cop: (snarling voice) SO, IT’S. AN EMERGENCY!!?
Me: Sir, yes, sir, it’s an emergency sir.
Cop: (Smiles, pleasant voice) Drive safely.

He then goes back into his car and works the radar, as I drive off ticket free. IIRC, the patient just had too much gas and simply needed antacids . Today, most truckers use Waze, and I would have gotten warned. LOL
