I get you're upset, but it seems like you are going pretty overboard here. You can certainly enjoy your cars without having to break the speed limit, no? As for gas prices, yes they sting, but an extra $30 per fill up shouldn't affect a person in your position (assuming given gt3 and other vehicles)

Gas prices just kind of help me make sense of putting the nail in the coffin of my street driving season this year and maybe going forward. Police took a break during Covid but now they are super aggressive. And I’ve noticed them everywhere. I’m pretty sure any kind of moving violation and my license will be suspended. Not just speeding. My businesses require me to be very mobile. So the risk of not having a drivers license, just isn’t an option. I’ll keep my Tesla on auto pilot as much as possible this year, unfortunately.

I also subscribe to just take it to the track. I also always only use the left lane to pass. Cops know how to manipulate waze.

Also learn about the little know area of law (State dependent) call Deferred Prosecution. With a good driving record, you can do this on your own, without an attorney, with the State's Attorney in court. Typical is about 1 hour community service per mph over the limit.

I've been served well with a Uniden R3. The units these days are so sensitive you get plenty of warning.

I use Waze 100% of the time without a radar detector (mainly because the Radenso Theia is still just a long ago pipe dream). I haven’t had a ticket in over 10 years. My eyes are always way down the road observing the reactions of other drivers to their surroundings mixed with some common sense/risk versus reward. Sure, spirited drives are safest on the track but everyone of us has been over the speed limit on public roads in our cars regardless if it’s a GT3 or a Ford. Doesn’t always imply we/you are careless and reckless. I have never used a lawyer to get out of a ticket but it is a viable option if you have multiple. Good luck

I used to have the newest radar detectors, but for the last 10 years I've been using Waze exclusively. Have not has a ticket in the last 10 years. And I do speed, 10-20MPH over the limit and occasionally much more You do have to be smart about it , though. If there are reports of potholes or road hazards, then you know another Wazer is ahead of you and reporting stuff. OTOH, if you see hazards and no one has reported it, it is likely no one is ahead of you.

I don't speed in backroads. There is just too high a chance someone is walking, riding a bicycle, driving a cart, or farm machinery. Or, as you've discovered, a well hidden cop making money for their small podunk police station. And they have a right or even an obligation to do so. You speed, you get caught, it's your price to pay.

Like almost everyone here has said, you want to speed, go to a DE. It stifles that little speed demon sitting on your shoulder when you are on the street.

Same here. Only use Waze now and it’s great to know where the police traps are. But been a decade plus since a ticket and it’s crazy aggressive policing here in the Northeast.

But the really crazy thing is the guys with the very nice cars - the GT3s, McLarens, Ferraris - are almost never the ones driving recklessly or going 50 over. It’s always the posers - the tuned Impreza WRX, the modded Bimmer, the showoff in the Nissan GT…

Was driving my TTS the other day on the highway, pass by a Gt2 RS driving perfectly and some insane bimmer in an m3 starts swerving in and out and literally puts multiples lives at risk. Guys like that deserve to be locked up.

Detectors spew out false readings 99% of the time. Even with X band turned off. Jammers are useless when it comes to radar, only laser. Most states don't even use laser.

Don't speed on city streets. If you do, do it in small spurts and slow back down immediately. Don't go over 70 in the city if you want a quick rip. It's not even about the cops on city streets, morons will pull out in front of you and change lanes in front of you for no reason. No reason lane changes are a real thing where I live. People pulling out in front of you never gauge your speed and will do it anyway at a crawls pace.

On the highway its really easy. Keep your eyes peeled at all times and you'll never get pulled over, don't speed AND have tunnel vision. Use other cars as a shield to block your car from a police car's line of sight. You're more likely to get paced on the highway than getting a radar ticket. Look far ahead at all times.

If you fly by a cop going over 100 and there's a large gap between you two, don't stop and get off the highway as soon as you lose sight. Don't be Mr. Obvious. Be methodical.

Don't speed near a city. Radar detector. I feel like it's easier to speed at night but that's just me. Hopes and prayers help also.
