Thanks!
Put PDK in D, rotate the locking collar in lower part of the shifter lever CCW to unlock the ****, pull straight up on the lever and the entire **** will come right off.

Insert a small "L" shape pry bar in hole around the PDK lever and gently pull up to release the plastic surrounding trim (so in this way you can avoid to remove other interior trims), disconnect the electrical cable from the door lock/hazard switch with the help of a small flat screw driver.

Swap the door lock/hazard switches in the new plastic trim and install back in the console.

Insert the new **** with the alcantara boot lifted up, lock the lower collar by rotate it CW, lower and install in place the boot.

Done.

Sounds easy. As soon as I get it I'll give a try. Maybe I'll create a video to help the next set of folks. Decided not to wait and got the leather option. Will see how it looks.

Just an overnight update from Suncoast, current ETA for end-September orders now pushed out to end-December.

They were pretty clear when I ordered that they weren't going to arrive until 2023 sometime.

So you don't have to pull all the console trim anymore? I did this swap in a 15 GTS a couple of times and remember having to pop that pc out first.

Confirm, in this way is not necessary to remove any other trim parts.

The parts came in and it was a 5 minute install. Thanks @Diego7K ! I decided to switch the console to leather to match. Here are some pictures. Bought a GT4 steering wheel to complete the look. Waiting for the airbag...

BTW after talkimg to Suncoast I used https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...rtknobpdk.html which included the plastic trim around the hazards and door locks. If you use this, it's the same price AND includes the trim piece so you do not need to order it separately.

Ordered last Wednesday, received yesterday, installed today. This is the GT4RS **** if you are okay with the artic grey (very similar to silver but a bit darker which is fine). For those of you waiting years for suncoast, order through your dealer parts department and tell them that you’ll prepay the $80 freight for expedited ordering (this places you on a priority for shipment). That is, of course, if you are willing to go with artic grey or have it restitched yourself.

Part numbers are:

982-713-120-A-P02 (The artic grey stitched **** and boot)

991-553-651-01-A05 (the button surround trim.

Suncoast really is the worst. I cancelled my order.

So, all Suncoast is doing is trying to save the $80 expedited shipping while pissing everyone off?

I just ordered one from P of Monterey based on thescout13's post above and was told the same leadtime. As soon as P of M gets confirmation of that I'll cancel the Suncoast B/O. I think the expedited shipping was $71 but my price at the dealer was less than suncoast so close to a wash.

Mine came in today. After cancelling with Suncoast, I ordered through independent shop. Shop got it from Germany in 3 days. Then another couple days to ship to me. So about 5 days total. Meanwhile, two months and Suncoast still has nothing.

I'm a bit confused here. Haven't tried to install yet. But my ****/boot came with the **** turned CW. So I imagine to lock it, you'd turn the **** CCW. But you're saying the opposite. Unless you install with **** already centered and you grab the collar underneath the boot and turn that instead?

The **** you got, turn the locker (black piece under boot) CCW before installing. When installing push very hard to get it on then grab and turn that bottom black locker clockwise and boom it locks.

Thanks! I initially installed and saw that the boot's stitching wasn't centered and thought I got a dud. Had to go back and re-lock that collar. Had to really grip it tight and turn hard to get it to lock all the way. But the stitching lined up.

Fixed:
