Porsche Irvine, $3,838.95 for 2 year service..
Took my 2018 GT3 Touring for service at Porsche Irvine, in Orange County, California after 5,440 miles.
Was told I needed my 2-year service.
Service advisor Tom Nerhus quoted me $3,838.96 for the following:
- Replace Brake Fluid
- Replace Air Element
- Replace Pollen Filter / with AC Disinfectant service
- Replace Spark Plug
I questioned the cost, and asked if this was a ‘standard’ dealer rate.
I was told that the plugs themselves will be 1/3 of the cost. The air filter is another 1/3 due to labor.
Was hesitant at the time, but needed to leave for a meeting and wasn’t prepared to ‘negotiate’ service. A quick search, unfortunately done after the dealership was closed, revealed that I’ve been grossly over-quoted.
I plan on calling them first thing in the morning to take back my car and go elsewhere. Purpose of my post is to warn others to hopefully not make the same stupid mistake as I have. This is the same dealership that tried to quote me $800+ to install my lithium battery- due to ‘reprogramming of chip’ in the car. Should of learned then…

That price is crazy. I recently paid $1800 for the 2 year service (@ 6k miles) for my GT3RS at Porsche Redwood City. Porsche Stevens Creek quoted me $2700 for the same.

S/B $1768. What I just paid for my 18 TTS Cab 2 year service (yes I know it's a different car), and that included the rag top protection service plus everything else you are getting.
Not sure why a P Store would blatantly rip off a customer like that. Shame on them...

Yep that dealer is none for their unsavory practices but sadly most around there have more money than sense so they just pay it and the gouging continues. Go see Mel at McKenna Porsche. He will take care of you and you will not need a jar of Vaseline.

Ridiculous...plugs and coil packs ($130 and $310) so they lie! I think they might be charging you $1k to change the maintenance interval

Porsche Warrington (Sloane) in PA is now charging the same, its far from standard as other other local dealers are about half the price. I advise any one considering Sloane to check prices with other dealers.

It's amazing what some of these dealers get away with charging. Whether or not you can afford to have it done, I'm glad you're having it serviced elsewhere so that they don't think they can charge these prices and people will continue to come (even though they probably will continue charging those prices).

I was quoted even more $ yesterday at Napleton Porsche...20K service $2800; 30K service (spark plugs) $4000. Complete insanity. I’m all for supporting my dealership’s service department... but this is madness. Another comparison point- they quoted > $2K for Sharkwerks bypass install while the indy got it done for $300-

When they first took over from Thompson I trusted them, but given the recent staff turnover I have lost faith in them. I was fortunate in that I way overpaid for the oil service for my cayenne so I was forewarned to check pricing for my 2 yr service on the RS, otherwise I would be stuck in the same situation as the OP. I will switch to Mainline, but I will also do more of may own maintenance work.
