Default Which Coilover kit for pure track use

We seem to have some limits on coil over kits but looking for track junkie experienced folks who have made the change and what was their experience?

Looking to maximize the experience of driving the RS hard on track and what options you recommend and why?

Thanks

I would recommend reaching out to your local shop will be assisting you with your chassis setup. While Ohlins, JRZ, MCS are all great brands and make excellent products, it's best to use what will be conveniently serviced when you need parts, revalving, etc. Having proper support is most important in racing as your local shop can also provide insight with tuning changes (for the tracks you'll be driving) along with trackside support.

^ what he said.

can't go wrong with Ohlins JRZ or MCS, it's the matter of who can service it near you as well as tuning it to your driving style to maximize its potential.

MR kit is definitely in consideration but looking for advice on those who have any type of kit installed for track use and their experiences?

My local shop doesn't care as they run all types of race cars with different kits, its all about the setup on track with driver feedback they said.

Pure DE experience and looking to take the base level RS to the next level for lap time improvement.

Sebring is the primary track.

For absolute peak performance, it is of my opinion that the spring rate selection(for the tire choice and for the track), the damper construction(inverted strut or standard), and the adjustment/chassis setup have more relevance than the damper brand. All of the manually-adjusted dampers have a range of adjustment- one would have think by now all of the damper manufacturers have the range wide enough to cover the requirements of a 7 year old chassis. Referring to the dampers themselves, the best lap time is result of where the compression and rebound adjusters are set to produce the best grip/balance for the external conditions(track layout, surface condition, tire temp). Race teams make damper adjustments frequently for external conditions, and even change spring rates(i.e. Watkins Glen will favor different spring rates than Sebring), sway bar settings, rake, and alignment to make the car the best they can. Most track day/HPDE drivers that I know don't have time nor don't care to make these adjustments so they rely on their shop to provide a universally good(I said good, not peak) setup. As far as the shop goes, I think most shops with the best intention will recommend a brand that they have experience with so they aren't starting from zero with the adjustments. With all that said, for a non-pro it has more to do with the supporting shop than the damper brand. For DIY'ers and self-supporters it would be most ideal to find a supplier who can provide all baseline setup numbers for the whole car(not just the damper dials). Just my 2 cents.

Tom what your saying makes perfect sense, however looking for experience from DE drivers on what they have had success with is what i need. I can easily make adjustments track side as I have track support and its so easy to adjust dials on a 2 or 3 way setup with the basic tools.

Hearing specific experiences from those who DE and what kit they have found has made significant improvements is key, quite a few kits out there and the cost is similar on some.

I drove a Dundon prepared RS with MCS 3 way dampers and the car handling was incredible almost too easy. MCS dampers will give you the greatest improvement for the buck. I installed these on my new 718 Clubsport.

Info from the MCS Damper introduction thread. It can be a long read but it has my honest review of the suspension.
