Having read this entire thread ( I know I have to get a life), I have come to realize that this sort of thing was going on in the fifteenth century. As John Lydgate once said,
“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.”
“You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time.”

Having read the entire thread..... from Europe,,,,,,
..... I am of the opinion that Porsche North America treated the client (and the problem) very well.
Here, in a European country, I had the PSM lights turn on yellow (can drive; go to Porsche Service) twice on my 991.2 Turbo S.
The third time, I called the dealer and asked them to solve the problem of a "car that I no longer trusted".
They sent a driver (I live 120 miles away from the dealership, in the mountains) to pick up the car.
They tested the car in detail, changed several "contactors/sensors" (especially wheel ABS, steering column angle, front train angle, etc.) and drove the car back to my place.
The only charge was for the gasoline used to drive the car to and from the dealership. No charge for the repair (car was 5 years old, with extended warranty), no charge for the driver who picked up the car and returned it.
I thought that was good "client service".

Far from amazing customer service... I didn't feel the need to lay out all the details. I shipped the the car out to AZ from my home in FL to enjoy the Grand Canyon and scenery over the winter. This happened while I was out in AZ and the car was serviced by the local AZ dealer. The car was stranded 2k miles from my home. I had to fly back to AZ to pick-up the car from dealer to put it back on transporter back east. Never made it to the Grand Canyon but I didn't feel it was relevant.
The real question which no one has commented on- is who else with a catastrophic engine failure is out there on the interwebs? PCNA uses NDAs to shut people up. If it's no one, fine- even good. I just have bad luck. **** happens. That's what I'm trying to figure out!

Thx. I don't have monthly payments. I own the car outright. I asked for a 10 year warranty. They offered $3,500 as that's there estimation of what a monthly payment would be (which is irrelevant to me) plus a 2 year warranty. I don't care about $3,500- i paid $230k cash for this car. $3,500 is peanuts- I spend that on DE registration fees annually.
The reality is, Porsche leads the pack in customer service in the worst circumstances and it sounds like they took great care of you. They have re-purchased a cayenne S e-hybrid from me, so I’m familiar with the negotiation process. I have ALSO had a major drivetrain failure in a GT3 that was replaced under warranty. I ended up selling the car for $10k over what I paid (i paid in cash, everyone, please know I paid in cash. Did I mention I paid in cash?) - it doesn’t negatively affect the value, buyers wouldn’t even know how to check and my buyer was actually happy to have a brand new setup.
Sidebar..if $3500 is peanuts, why are you so concerned with the resale value?
get out and enjoy your car!!!

I don’t think you’re being reasonable..and yeah WE GET IT, you paid cash for the car LOL...I’m just curious, who’s cash was it?

According to your sales post on RL was a “minor issue” just a “slight slippage in 1st gear”
BUT PCNA replaced the entire transmission so the 3rd owner is the true winner. The sugar momma who gave me the cash said that’s the kind of thing used car salesman say.
You also bought your 5 year old used car in February 2020 and sold it in Nov 2020 with the crazy Covid market pricing allowing you to make a quick 10k profit, which has zero relevancy to the issue at hand or values in general. Don’t conflate. Glad you made money.

This covid market you reference built in a premium on the RS I bought next that outweighed the profits on my .1 by over 3x, so it was quite a significant net negative..
I’m out enjoying the car, rather than going full Karen on the nice people at Porsche..on the plus side, I’d never encountered a grown adult that was willing to say liar liar pants on fire out loud, so I’ll check that off the list..
