The later G series (which I'm sure includes yours) has all the changes as with the H series. The early G series were the same as the F series from 2015. Changes include re engineered cams and finger followers better quality control on the forgings and adding DLC coating on the cams and FF's, new oil pump with ECU software to vary the oil pressure according to engine load and oil temperature. The F series and early G series cars didnt have these changes. Thing is that many owners don't use their cars enough to ever have a problem because they rarely get driven - low kms and rarely see repeated high rpm. Best thing to do IMO is use the car and keep it under factory warranty. I can renew the warranty until 2031. My car just ticked over 70000km and I do about one track day per month on average. So Ive probably done about 8000 track kms. The rest being hills and country driving. I love driving the car and intend to continue to do so. Don't worry about it - keep it under warranty and drive the nuts off it

I had a pretty early G motor and had it for 40,000 miles.
In the end I lost sensors on both banks and at 20,000 miles a cooling pipe broke.
It at spark plugs like crazy but never a problem besides the mentioned.
Still, mine were hard miles, if it was street miles with just a few track days I’m sure it’s fine but I didn’t want to push my luck...
.2 I had 20,000 miles and it needed a new gearbox @ 15,000 because it was leaking, but otherwise all OK.

I guess that if these cars are driven as they are supposed to be something will eventually break - the nature of the highly strung naturally aspirated internal combustion engine - there is a price to be paid for the accurate throttle response and that intoxicating high rpm exhaust note - I am willing to pay that price

Wasn't aware of a late production H series engine on the 991.1 RS... interesting. Not clear from conversation above but is there a way to tell what engine model you have based on production date?
My car was early April 2016 build if that helps...

Not sure how you can tell if you have an early or late 2016 G series engine. My original engine was manufactured Jan 2016 from the original paper work which I have. So obviously an early G series engine. The new replacement engine I have is a 2017 build MA176H....... I'm not sure whether an April 2016 build engine is classified as "early" or "late" build. Sorry not much help Ask the local dealer ??
