Yes ask prices are ridiculous right now. It seems people would rather have the car sitting around for sale than actually selling it....I just sold my RS and reality sets in very quickly on what cars are really selling for....

I just called my one of my buddies at the local Porsche dealership and told them I'm looking in the 140s-50s range for a .1 RS. Don't really care about miles, but I have a sneaking suspicion that's what they're offering on trade-ins right now so I figured I'd throw a feeler out there to see if I get any bites. Worst comes to worst I wait a few more months. I feel like the used car market in general is just highly priced.

I actually saw a few prices on RS cars that have been on the market for a few weeks increase in price by 10k this week. Not sure what the reasoning is as they didn’t sell at the 200k price and were WP equipped cars. Now they are 210k. Maybe they were getting lowballed and figured this may get the price into the range they were looking for.

Seems like every WP car with under 5k miles priced 205 or under that popped would sell quickly as I've been watching close for the last 6 weeks or so.

I posted this in the marketplace but figured it might get some eyes here too:
Looking for a .2 GT3RS with Weissach Package, carbon brakes, front axle lift, LED headlights in black (PDLS), and would actually prefer 18 way sport seats over buckets (but will consider buckets). Color preference is Silver, White, Red, Black, possibly Blue, but not Green. Prefer under 3,000 miles (or not far off). Ready to buy the right car at right price. PM me details on what you have and your contact number. Thanks!

I took a quick look at 991.1 GT3 listings and they seem to be $5-10k more overall than a few months ago. Not many nice finds under the $115k mark

Prices going back up are a headfake - just like with assets, there's still price discovery going on. the economic situation now looks better than in April, so prices are up. The reality is, even before the pandemic, the sports car market was in a pronounced decline across the board due to oversupply. Take a look at motoring magazines from 20 years ago and you could count the number of sports/supercar releases a year on one hand. There's a new one or variation of one launched what seems like every week now.

I’ll put in my 2 cents as I’ve been looking for a .2gt3

the “right” cars are selling very quickly if priced right. Right car being a white or chalk(no funky color) with buckets lift leds and ceramics. Getting a nice car with 5k miles is practically impossible for under 157-160k.

Ive tried to buy 2 of them and I was late recently as they sold right away!

Used cars have skyrocketed in price. There is heavy pressure from Covid and new car production. Now factories are back and retooling for 2021. Perfect storm for used prices or increase. Cars are selling at auction what they were selling for retail just a month or two ago.

Not sure if the GT market will follow the same as “normal” used cars but obviously dealers think so.

This is the same thing I heard from the owner of a very large dealership. He said just wait another few months and prices will come down hard.

I just sold my .1 RS with all the big options and 19k miles. Really nice shape. Listed at $147K and transacted at $144.5k. Had lots of interest. Also had lots of low ballers, but that was expected.

The .1 is a lot of car for that kind of money IMO.

It's interesting to hear that with a few months, the prices will come down a noticeable amount. I wonder for those of us having cars for sale, if we should let them go for the highest current offer or wait it out. Of course that depends on the motive behind the sale I assume. It is just that usually waiting is discussed as a strategy to get more dollar for selling or pay less for buying which in this case looks like if buyers are waiting, they may be in for a surprise softened market.

That sounds right....I sold mine for $145K with 8K miles....mine had sofas which I suspect knocks $5K or so off of a similarly equipped car.....I had low interest because of the seats....knew that when I bought it though.....

I would think prices will remain high until more inventory comes on the market. Either in the form of 992 GT cars, or more .2 become available from people who currently have them. I think both of those things are potentially slow coming, so the market might not drop that soon. I could be wrong. My wife told me I was wrong once, but I'm pretty sure she was mistaken....
