Either way, the 992.1’s will still be a hit.

Final straw was seeing a 992 sitting side by side with a 991.2 GT3 at the dealer. It just lacked the grace and cohesiveness of the 991.2 design. Pulled the trigger on the 991.2 a week later and there's a smile on my face every time the garage door opens on that rear.
I'm still on the fence about the 992 GT3 and can see why people are jumping at the 991.2s now while they are still available.

I hemmed and hawed about waiting out the 992 GT3 before picking up my 991.2. I spent a fair amount of time in various 992s before making the leap and just couldn't get into the interior or rear of the car. While the 991.2 interior seemed like a driver's car, the 992 interior reminded me of my wife's BMW with endless screens and buzzers.

I agree too to a point. At these premiums I have no problem jumping on the 992 gt3 bandwagon. It makes zero sense to pay over original msrp for a 991.2 or close to original msrp.
but yeah the 991.2 has a classic look vs the new gt3 seems all about aero. But it’s going to be my track car so aero is good..

It's very interesting seeing people call a 991 a "classic" as it was looked at as a fat pig previously....
I will be moving to a 992 as well with the 991.2 pricing.

These cars aren’t classics it’s too many of them, and the bubble will burst it always does. It’s not a numbers car which makes it tough, and can be an argument in 25 years if you’re alive. Dealers read forms and are jacking up the price because of the hype. It’s the same mentality go by all the toilet paper because of Covid ......um really. Many forgot Mooty was selling a new Miami Blue touring for 10k over LWB, PCCP’s full wrap and no one would touch it, and he sold to a dealer.

Glad you all know what’s going to happen in the future. Wish I could have that crystal ball. As they say what goes up must come down. So you are most likely correct. Not sure it’s all about the forums, everything seems to be high now. With all of these people paying high prices maybe it will affect what they sell for in the future. Who knows. I certainly don’t.

Numbers don’t determine If a car becomes a classic, however there certainly were not a lot of them made and only a little over 700 for the U.S. It’s way too soon to know if one day they do become classics, as you say that is for discussion to be had many years from now. They are good cars and obviously in some demand for now. I agree prices are very high for now. Go try and buy a Rolex Daytona now and see what they are asking. For whatever reason prices are up, where they go in the future is anyone’s guess. Even if they came down to MSRP or close that still pretty good.
No cars are classics in 2 years, and it’s a bubble just watch it’s nothing more. It gets bigger the more it’s discussed, and Porsche trolls this board along with local dealers. Not sure people understand pricing on this board it’s like insider trading for dealers they feast/I would do the same. Human behavior people typically want what they can’t have. Rolex Daytona white gold purchased below MSRP from Rolex and the same for silver don’t like it. It’s all the hype man, and I say press on no hate here.

I agree, and the touring is a great car ...........numbered Porsche cars have always done well with a designated number. Touring is an option on a GT3, and I have dealer friends that live on this board and drive the hype it’s a bubble. Same happened with the 981 Spyder they sold over MSRP until the MDW model was released, and the mindset for many this is the last 911 manual. It’s like playing GameStop get in early, and what people pay personally is their business. Many cars sit in the bubble now and great for sellers ........40k over for a GT3 is a bubble. Flipped R’s were 500k plus and now it’s still a premium 100k plus for a 2016 car that’s numbered.
