Hi guys, more gt3 gearbox anomaly's! Warm engine, with a regular speed change from 4th to 5th, 5th would not engage, tried to shift to 6th nothing! so I pulled over in neutral shut down restarted and selected 1st and away we go shifting normally through the gears as if nothing happened. Second service was nearly due so I dropped it into the dealer. The fault was recorded but as usual they cleared and it did not re appear so I have the car back to see if the fault re occurs . Today after 2 uneventful trips , changing down 4th to 3rd the shift again was balked but this time I went back to 4th no problem. No further problems from there. There was a suggestion on another thread which I cannot find ....that it could be related to a clutch fluid issue. Can anyone chime in?

Had the same Issue with my 18 Touring, took it to the dealer several times, they ended up replacing the transmission but only after a grinding sound happened when shifting from 5th to 6th.

I tried a Flat shift this last week and it did not happen - really surprised me
No grinding and clutching then showed everything easily shifted back as normal,
then again it has almost been a year since I flat shifted

So this has happened twice now both times in sport mode, I will check with Porsche if the fault latched again, could be a sensor going bad, these so called analog cars are so wrapped up with tech!

I had a similar problem with my '18 GT3 manual, and posted a thread with a video of the issue. It turned out to be nothing more than air in the clutch cylinder, and after they bled and refilled it everything has been fine. That was at the second dealer I brought the car to though. The first had it for 2 weeks, during which I picked it up 3 times and had the issue within a few miles of leaving, after they did over 100 miles of test driving and couldn't find the problem. If you car shifts fine, except when it doesn't, I'd bet the farm on nothing more than a bubble in the line/cylinder that's moving around.

Thanks, this is what I was looking for, I asked the dealer top do this during the service but they just cleared the fault code and asked me to drive the car to see if it happened again!

So the latest, the car went back to the main agent again, this time they discovered the gearbox oil level was "low" despite just completing a 2 year service and having that little box ticked.... so they drained and re filled and sent a sample to Porsche. They also checked the cables, despite me asking specifically , they did not bleed the clutch. The drive home was good and the change felt better, no balked shift, only time and miles will tell ......

Back to Porsche again, gear noise changing to 4th with clutch fully depressed ... now the box is toast and a new one on its way under warranty!! I haven’t established what the fault is yet!
