Default 991.1 GT3RS Reverse Backup Camera?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has seen a backup camera that can be installed into a 991.1 RS?
Im told there is a couple that connect into the PCM?
If not, perhaps a wireless solution with a screen I can just plug in to the cigarette lighter socket temporarily when reversing into my very tricky Garage. I’d store the screen in the glovebox when driving.
Thanks in advance.

I had it installed on my .1 RS last month, works great and looks OEM. Believe the shop used the NavTV setup as my camera looks exactly the same as the one pictured on their site.

I have Nav TV front and rear cameras. I purchased through 12V Nick because I had him do the console switch panel modification and Nav TV harness modification so I can use the console switches to turn the front and rear cameras on and off. The rear camera also turns on when you put the transmission in reverse. If I’m not mistaken, the rear camera also comes on if the car rolls backwards even if the transmission is in drive. It was a long time ago but I think I spent over $1,500 for the system and miscellaneous items. I did the installation myself. The system works perfectly and I can park forward into a parking space with confidence being able to see the curb coming up. It’s installed in a 991.1 GT3.

One other nice feature of the NavTV unit is you can turn it on by hitting the rear defrost button twice quickly. It takes some practice to get the timing but I found on my .1 GT3 it was really helpful at the track since the rear mirror is blocked by the wing.

Did you have to have your radio modified?

The NavTV module sites inline with the harness to the radio. There's an initial programming to the radio (that enables the rear camera menu) that is done via the module when you first install it. But no physical modifications need to be done. Very nice and clean install that is easily reversible (minus the holes in the bumper for the camera.

I have this in my 911R. It works perfectly. You lose the lines but that's no big deal. Highly recommend.

Lines actually come from the camera, so it depends on which camera you used. There were fixed lines with the camera I used. Not sure if there's an aftermarket camera that would tie in to the CAN Bus to pick up the steering wheel angle or not.

There is no modification to the radio or factory wiring. The factory radio harness plugs into the NavTV harness and the NavTV harness plugs into the radio. You do not open the radio. You go into the radio settings to enable the camera function.

With 12V Nick’s console switch panel modification, you can turn on the rear camera with one push of a button. You don’t have to look for the defrost button and push twice. It’s a great feature giving you an additional view before changing lanes.

Just be careful that using the defrost button has a tendency to overheat the camera, causing it to flash on/off intermittently.

Never had that happen during 25 minute track sessions. Suspect that is dependent on the camera used and the car is gone to a good home now.
