Added CarPlay to my GT3, and a backup camera at the same time. For the life of me, I do not understand how these cars do not come stock with them!!!

I got the camera from Amazon for like $30, and then added a wireless kit so I didn't have to run the wires, it was like $12. There is some static at times on the camera, so I did end up running a wire to the camera. The install took me about 4 hours, including adding the CarPlay kit.

It was so worth the time and effort! Besides totally modernizing the PCM, I can see where I'm going in reverse now!

Thanks!
First, read this thread about Carplay

There are a couple of kits, I got the Joyauto one from China.

Camera
Amazon Amazon
Wireless kit
Amazon Amazon
I would spend the extra money and get the Digital on, or the 5g one. This did have some static at times. I made it much better buy running a extra antella wire up the A pillar and out the side of the rear bumper into the fender well.
Seri mic
Amazon Amazon
Kit comes with one, but this mounted better on the steering column.

I just installed the joyeauto car play and rear camera. It is a bit of a pain and it took some figuring out but now everything works good.

Where did you guys run the cable from the rear camera into the car?

Down the passenger side there is a big wire run that goes down the side. Once in the back, up top of the rear shelf, there are a couple of rubber grommets. You can pop one out and run the wire.
It's not that difficult, but you got to remove the entire rear shelf, and pull up the carpet on the passenger side. Just removing the plastic door sills is enough to get under the carpet.

Did you run the wire out the tail light area as seen in the 6speedonline write up? Im having a really hard time locating that pass through spot since the area is so small. Thanks.

No, I did not see that hole on my car. I also have a cage installed, so this was a bit harder then a normal install. There are a couple of grommets on the flat part of the rear shelf in that general area that I used, then feed the cable into the other side of the twilight housing. Mine is connected on the opposite side, not as slick as the 6-speed install, but for me it was far easier to run.
