The 991.2 GT3/Rs both share the same hinges, so this does not look like a factory part. The hinges that come with the car are already a carbon fiber type, just not visible. Like the wing/deck on the GT3.
this is a factory part. that's what holds up the engine cover on my RS. if you look carefully at the hinge it is indeed made of carbon.
I didn't remember seeing the weave on the hinge. It is there. On the PET the part number for the 991.2 GT3 and GT3RS are the same for the hinge. So if you have a 991.2 GT3, then you already have the same parts as the RS.
According to Suncoast website above, hinge can be fitted into both 991.1 GT3 and RS. I just want to know if this CF hinge can actually reduce how much weight.

Humm, I might just get a set, why not? Of course I'll throw them on the scale. But at best maybe loose a pound?

Why do you say that?
Many have broke their hinges already. My Dealer has already replaced a bunch
If you forget to un-latch it or some one else cleans/services your cars and forgets the latch is there and they try to close it hard it breaks pretty easily.
It's a pain when it's time to close the lid. You have to move the red lever and lift the lid to get it to unlock. Mine always gets a bit difficult.
Oh, I get it. Mine has it's own spring that keeps the lid up, and you just open and close like a normal lid. Nice to know these lock. They be much lighter than the 991.1 is that is the case.
