I got my parts from Sunset Porsche today.
Ordered
991 512 151 80
991 512 152 80
Can someone confirm the part numbers for me before I contact Sunset?
These were what popped up under the RS for hinges. What I got were the stock metal ones. They weigh 2.5lbs without paint and struts. My guess is just under 5lbs total.

Those are the GT3RS 991.1 part numbers.
You wanted these part numbers (page 392 of the PET).
These are for the 991.2 GT3/RS (carbon hinges)

They sent me 2 right ones. Surpassingly they are much heaver then I thought they would be, these are heavy duty. On the weight side, the savings might only be 1-2lbs. But they look killer!
Starting to think this is something that I should not even try to do. Something out there is plotting against me changing out the hinges. Still waiting for a refund from the metal ones that were originally sent. This has been a nightmare.

Nt sure what is going on with Sunset Porsche, but it has been a PITA to get the parts I paid for delivered. I sent them a few emails asking when the hinge would arrive, and got nothing back. Finally called and threatened to call my CC company and file a complaint, then a couple days later the hinge showed up. But I'm still missing some other parts from my order....
Install took about 40min, did the passenger side first, then had a helper hold the deck lid for the drivers side. After everything is bolted up, you got to align it. This took the most time. Getting at the top hinge bolt on the car is a little difficult, you got to close the lid about 2/3rd the way to get a socket in there. The CF hinges also need the clip that goes into the deck lid sanded down just a little. The end is a bit too square, just file down the end so it's more like a ramp.
Weight savings, is just over 2lbs. Most of it might be in the gas struts. It looks and works the same, but now the lid is "manual" up and down, vs the struts helping it up. It also locks in place now, and you must unclip the lock to lower. I found that I have to really close the lid now, where it would just shut and lock on it's own before.
It cost $180, takes less then a hour to install, it's real carbon fiber, and does save weight. I put it on par with the Alm look gas cap.

It is weight behind the rear axels, and up high, so it's weight well lost, but it's 2lbs. I added that back in when CarPlay, backup camera, and Burnmeister speakers were added. Of course I got a cage, that's 50lbs there.

Is it worth it obviously not. Is it stronger no, is it cool yes.
