Wonder if the way forward is going back.. 991RS to 997RSs

This is what I did to fix the dilemma. I had the 997 first though. Decided to keep it in case I didn't like the 991. I like both for different reasons, so I still have them and have no intentions of getting rid of either one. Will add a 992 GT3RS probably because I'm a sucker.

If you haven’t owned a 997rs before, you should try it. There are options I’d argue for/against in a multi-car garage. If one toy car only, 997rs is my top choice, money no object. If mainly the street, I like the 3.6. If street/track mix, 3.8 so much better out of the box on track. While I have 4.0, premium for it these days is high enough, I’d pass and go 3.6 or 3.8. If you need something that is part car and part toy and/or makes u a better driver than u deserve on track, 991’s are the better choices by far. Toy-only AND you’ve never owned one, 997rs is an easy choice IMO.

I’ve been looking as well. I’ve had one.
They are asking too much for mediocre cars that are CPO. I called out a dealer on a CPO one and they quickly sent
the car to auction after I confronted them on an issue.
If you get one, make sure you pin/weld the coolant lines and make sure the cam actuator/bolt issue is addressed. I had an engine replacement due to the cam issue.
Don’t replace your current RS...just add.

It seems these CPOs don't mean much of anything outside of getting the warranty. And I've found so many false negatives and false positives in CarFax and AutoCheck reports, I can't say they mean much either. Smh.

better investment if he would buy a piece of property in Montana so he could make it more official or lease space to Rennlisters. Wait maybe I should lease the space to you guys for property there!

the LLC has MT address (usually your lawyers)
so the LLC is all legit
the LLC owns a car in MT
but I don't have the patience to chit chat with LEO who usually have 1/100000 of my already poor IQ. it's a losing proposition. life is too short to argue with morons, who are never friendly... I almost told them I PAY YOUR SALARY BUDDY.... but I had to bite my tongue...

I feel like the older generation of cars are like X girlfriends, most people just remember the better things and it becomes easy to believe the old one was better as you forget a lot of the faults and shortcomings it had with the current.
I have an M4, 993, audi a4, scud....coincidentally I actually got the scud over a 997.2 gt3rs, thats another story. But, I got the 991.2 gt3rs because the m4 was 4 years old and I wanted something new and awesome racecar.
The keyword is what do u feel like u dont have? New, fun, analog, manual, special, modern......For me it was new AND racecar. I would get whatever you are missing, but don't sell something that takes away something you wanted in the first place
You don't want to keep up with the Porsche Jones's but the Porsche Jone's On RL are the first ones that are going to tell u to get a 997.2 gt3rs...
It's a great car, I love it....but it's Porsche's X gf from 9 years ago people like to forget it's faults. The 2019 rs has a 9k redline, the high butterfly scoops and NACA ducts, rws, louder, more racecar/exotic looking, epic seats....The 997 is lesser imo in these areas. What I personally miss more than anything is the 3rd pedal. It is a great car, but it would have been even greater to own it 9 years ago, sometimes I feel like it is just time to move on...

I did have that thought. however, if you really get a lawyer on that. I was told YOU do not own the car. YOUR LLC does.

That is correct and one of the legal issues with doing it. Most people don't even know that your insurance on the cars needs to be in the LLC's name, have the LLC listed on it, if it does not then technically you are not insured.
If you have property out there then for you to title the car in Montana you are supposed to have a driver's license. In order to get your license you have to prove residency and turn in your old residency state driver's license.
One caveat to all this is Montana does not have a sales tax but they have added in a tax for all vehicles with a base MSRP of $150K or more. For every tag of a vehicle above this price you pay $1000 plus the tag fees.
