Wonder if the way forward is going back.. 991RS to 997RSs

I don't find the 997.2 RS to be too much car for street driving. Plenty of usable shifting. I looked at the 991.2RS but everyone on here talked so highly of the 7.2RS so I got one. Thought I can always move into a 1.2RS - Plenty of them. I'm not a long term owner but after 8 months I don't see myself ever selling.
Lots of thumbs up for the 997.2RS on the 991GT forum. That should tell you something.

The 997.2 is a beautiful car- buy what you like, but if I know you at all you like to boast about having the fastest car in whatever category. You will need to boast about something else, like value retention, rarity etc. If you go the 997 route just make sure to remember to use the 997 GT forum, LOL.

I feel like the older generation of cars are like X girlfriends, most people just remember the better things and it becomes easy to believe the old one was better as you forget a lot of the faults and shortcomings it had with the current.
I have an M4, 993, audi a4, scud....coincidentally I actually got the scud over a 997.2 gt3rs, thats another story. But, I got the 991.2 gt3rs because the m4 was 4 years old and I wanted something new and awesome racecar.
The keyword is what do u feel like u dont have? New, fun, analog, manual, special, modern......For me it was new AND racecar. I would get whatever you are missing, but don't sell something that takes away something you wanted in the first place
You don't want to keep up with the Porsche Jones's but the Porsche Jone's On RL are the first ones that are going to tell u to get a 997.2 gt3rs...
It's a great car, I love it....but it's Porsche's X gf from 9 years ago people like to forget it's faults. The 2019 rs has a 9k redline, the high butterfly scoops and NACA ducts, rws, louder, more racecar/exotic looking, epic seats....The 997 is lesser imo in these areas. What I personally miss more than anything is the 3rd pedal. It is a great car, but it would have been even greater to own it 9 years ago, sometimes I feel like it is just time to move on...

That being said, I actually did buy property in MT with an LLC earlier this year, but have no intention of using for car purchases.

I have a GT3T and bought a 997.1 RS. Love both in different ways. Sold the RS and regret it. Doesn’t mean I would trade it for my Touring though. Honestly tough one if you can only have one. Otherwise definitely have both. Comparison is Apples and buffalos for me.

Why not stop with .2 GT3RS to get off the latest and greatest go around? If the 992 3RS is a hybrid I may not consider it. In the end its just a car

Latest stopped being greatest above 350-400hp and 3000lbs, at least for my backroads.

997 Gt3rs = A Car you drive and control, it relies on the driver.
991 Gt3rs and newer = A Car that drives much faster with better control with less reliance on the driver.
Do you want to drive or be driven? That is the question. If you have both then you’re completely covered, one can’t replace the other entirely
