Default I’ve been contemplating adding a 997.2 RS.

However, I’ll make that decision after the 992 RS is released as it’s going to be one or the other OR a 458 (it’s been haunting me). All this is dependent on where the economy is 1-2 years from now when the 992 RS is revealed.

^^^tough decisions. None of them bad choices. Hopefully you have a chance to own each of them at some point to know for sure which one

Thoughts appreciated.

Thanks.
Do it! my buddy did it and is actually happier with end result. He is not track guy so the back road rally he does make him so much more happy in the 997

991.2 RS amazing capable street car.
But 997.2 RS has that bit more character, special feel, driving experience and reward that no 991 offer in the long run!

I guess I'm different. I have both 997.2 3.8 and a 991.2 3rs. I love both cars and don't want to sell either one. But if I was selling one, I would dump the 997 and keep the newer one. Everyone has a different opinion. Best to just keep your current one and add another one. Easiest fix.

The Porsche douchery is strong in this thread - here’s the truth, the 991.2 is the better car by every metric. It’s even more interesting from a technical perspective, it’s a much more balanced drive. End of.

The truth is that your previous posts reveal you are largely concerned with simply going fast. It's not wrong, but there is a physical limit to speed despite someone purchasing multiple 6 figure cars.

One of the key things that separate Porsche enthusiasts from simple "car guys", is a more nuanced appreciation for the feel, sound, smell, and experience of driving a finely crafted sports car, even if the absolute max speed is less than an exotic supercar, that others often drive to demonstrate their wealth and financial status, more than anything else.

There's the fallacy. You care about numbers and metrics. If that's what floats your boat, so be it. Anyone here that buys a 997RS over a 991 clearly doesn't. And it's certainly not about the slightly higher cost of admission. I'm sure I'm not mistaken that most here could easily afford the latest and greatest. I for one have absolutely zero desire to own a new GT3 or RS.

^^^Really nice pair in avatar. I had a white FGT at one point; super cool and unique toy. There’s not much to want for with a 997rs and FGT.

Thank you. Rationally, no, there shouldn't be a 'want' of anything else. But the one that I would potentially sell it all for is one of yours, specifically the CGT. Maybe one day.....

I won’t go so far as to offend people, but I do agree that older is not better. Having owned and heavily tracked a 997.2 I say it has many flaws, and as a livable sports car left me wanting. The 991.2 is just better in almost every area and does not have the flaws of its predecessor. TEHO, if you want that old times feel don’t stop at 2012, keep going, 1973 seems to have a great appeal. LOL - as I said TEHO.

Actually, you sound like the douche. Give it up, man. People can like what they want. Stop being so dogmatic and high on yourself.

Call me Captain Douche. My 991.2 3RS is a swell car, but my 997.2 puts a bigger smile on my face.
