Consider a Simpson device instead. Allows much more head movement and the hybrid model is also compatible with a classic 3 point belt. Tried an traditional Hans but went with the Simpson for comfort reasons.

Simpson will also provide some lateral neck protection for those not using a Halo seat, which is almost everyone in the DE world.

Any time I'm in a street car on track I take my HANS off the helmet...does your car have 5 point harness?

More specifically, the Simpson Hybrid S is the only model 'certified' for use with standard 3-point belts. Not the Hybrid Pro or Hybrid Sport.

Plan is for the 6-point gt3 Enduro harness from schroth... I have the still st-5 GT carbon helmet. I'm undecided big I'm going to put in 6-point belts o. The passenger side, likely so, as I do bring friends and family often, at least half the laps, running at 80%>

Simpson is the way to go these days More comfortable and safer. Also its worth getting the FHR specific six points as well.

I can attest that the Simpson Hybrid works very well with a standard 3 point. I had a run in with a wall last year at Daytona and had no injuries other than my pride.

If you're running a 6 point then consider a Hans or Schroth. Both work fantastic but slightly different fitment and its personal which you will like better. Some guys like to get the seat angle adjustments, but myself I like it stock with no issues. I only see the Simpson when guys are running 3 point seat belts. Remember that most DE rules require both the driver and passenger seat belts to be equal so you will likely need the 6 point for both seats.

Aww, don't confuse me, lol... So Hans if using 6-point? I'm for sure running 6-point.

The references to Simpson above are for use with a 3 point belt. Running 6 point you are better off with either a Hans or Schroth SHR Flex or Hans III or Pro. Make sure you get the helmet brackets to attach it.

If you're not sure look for a shop in your area to go and talk with them and view the product, or if no one in your area call Clarke at Apexperformance.net. (I'm not affiliated just a customer)

Only when also using a halo seat, otherwise you're significantly increasing the risk of a lateral neck injury. This is why all the recent GT-car Nurburging factory timed laps utilize a halo seat.

Can you please explain why a yoke style HANS would be better compared to a Simpson Hybrid using 6-point harness?
