Default Change GT3 rear to GT3 touring

Hey guys is this possible?

My dad fell in love with the GT3 touring. He has other cars so I'm not too worried about comfort since he wants something special. I've been looking around and there aren't many for sale up here in the great white north. The other problem is my dad is 75 and I don't see him using the Bucket seats so it would have to be a car that has 18 way or normal seats at least. so that narrows down the possible cars a lot.

So... would it be possible to get a normal GT3, even with PDK, remove the wing and install the GT3 touring engine cover and wing?

Thanks

I'm not quite clear. The Touring is a "normal" GT3 with the "Touring" option box checked, which removes the wing and only gives you a manual transmission. The motor is the same, regardless of wing or no wing.

If your dad fell in love with the Touring, look for one without bucket seats.

there are not touring available in canada without bucket seats at this time. Just wondering if removing the wing on a normal GT3 is possible to get the same look.

Got it. An easier option may be to swap out the LWB's:

If you do a search, you'll find several threads where people discuss converting a winged GT3 to a Touring. I'm pretty sure at least a few people have done it.

They will, with an additional harness. I found this one thread, using a cursory search:

Anything is possible with enough money.
The 'touring' is just an option package. I'm sure he would be thrilled with any GT3.

If some people have converted a GT3 to a Touring then to simply satisfy my curiosity, I would like to know how they have done it because as you can see by these two photo, the cooling fans and the induction vents under the engine cover are in completely different places. I am also told that the ECU tuning is different to allow for the different induction paths and lack of ram air effect.

The air filter box and filters, mounted behind the rear bumper, is completely different also.

I haven’t seen one person do it yet surprisingly. I may attempt this next year. It’s the same car. Just some parts that need to be swapped. Not worried about ECU my tuner can handle that. He’s a whiz.

many have asked about how to do it, but I don’t think anyone has done it yet. apparently it’s harder than one would think. why didn’t more of you just order a Touring?!

Or a gt3rs with sofas. I think those wings are easier to remove.
