Wish someone would tell that to Tyson’s. they had a buildable slot locking last Thursday, but wouldn’t sell the allocation for less than 130K ADM. (I offered 15)

I also believe as they were delivered, many people realized the .2s weren't drastically different from the .1s they traded in for them. and at that point, since.1s were already depreciating, the sinking ship took everything in the same direction.
Yes, I meant the lack of depreciation of the .1's. There was a stretch where if you purchased a 991.1 Carrera S you would have lost a fairly significant amount more than on a .1 GT3. So, in effect, it was cheaper to own the GT car, and some even had 12 months of "free" ownership. My theory is that the ADM's and higher starting MSRP's along with increased production took care of that momentary bubble for the .2's.

It's all totally worth it if you can afford it and want to have your 1 of 1 or your special ordered spec.

Life is short.

I remember being with my mom when I was 10 or 11. We were in a fancy clothing store and she saw a sweater she loved. There was only one in her size. My father was a monster, engineer tight wad. She looked at me and said...

If you see something you want and there's only one... buy it. Because when you return the next day it will be gone.
Dude, that's kinda sad. My dad was an engineer as well. Also quite tight with the coin, although, in fairness, I think that may be a character trait specific to the profession.

My parents made enough but definitely would never spend it on a car of all things.

Definitely agree with you, life is short, and these cars are absolutely special and worth every penny.

These are the reasons why I wanted a specific car. PCCB's, Lift, LWB, full leather and an M/T. It will surely depreciate but look at the bright side, I didn't pay $200K like the guy I bought it from! I still haven't had the car over 6500RPM so I'm obviously not enjoying mine as much as some of you.

True, speedster hype died down fast.

I have an identical experience this past Sat.at the dealer. Have a 2018 GT3 with PTS, PCCB’s, front lift, carbon fiber bits and total car PPF. Sticker was 190K. Has 6500 miles in exc. condition.
Looked at virtually new 2019 RS. They wanted 18K over sticker for the RS!!! and 140K (50K hit) to trade. The best net/net that they would offer was 96K.
Is the depreciation that much worse for the GT3 vs the RS??

If so, it would make financial sense to spend more money up front for the RS and suffer less depreciation, if you can get the allocation.

GT3 RS should be MSRP at most now.

Lol, That's funny but definitely true, along with MB AMG's, BMW M's, Vettes, Mac's, etc etc. We GT folk have it good, just drive your cars already.

This whole thread is actually very funny. I remember how hyped up some of the guys here were about these cars. It reminds me of the real estate boom. The late model Porsche community has always been about the latest greatest newest most expensive...

In my case, you are right. I can afford the car, and the loss I took on it. But I'm always surprised when people make that kind of statement. Any type of, "If you can afford X, you can also afford Y," statements. It isn't just a given. Just because a person can afford one thing, does not automatically mean they can afford another thing.

I mean, it would be dumb to buy a car without considering the risks of capital loss, maintenance expenses, etc., and being prepared to accept those additional costs if they occur, but there ARE a lot of dumb people in the world. So it happens.
