Goodyear supercar 3r - anyone try them yet?

This doesn't answer your question but I highly recommend either Michelin PS4S if you are doing a lot of driving in the rain, or get Cup 2's.

I didn't think they made them in the right size for the front, only the rear? Those are the OEM tire for the camaro ZL1 1LE. Different car, but the fast guys using these tires tell me the first day is very fast. The 2nd day is slower and the front tires are bald by the end of the 2nd day. Im curious if Goodyear will be releasing these tires in the US.
The F1 supersport R appears to be the same exact tire as the dunlop sport maxx race2, and the F1 supersport RS is supposed to be equivalent to the cup2R. If the F1 supersport RS is faster than the 1-2 sessions you get out of the cup2R, that would be interesting to try out.
lisocayman uses his car on the track. PS4S are good for a street tire. Wrong tire for his intended use.

Should have known orthajoe would have the answer (hey joe). Yes they have the supercar in oem size now at America’s tire for the GT3 (haven’t checked the RS). But it seems the super sport R and RS are the ones we want. Hopefully they will come states side soon.

Looking forward to trying this range - good to see a tire that can handle standing water/wet weather capability and another option with R spec layer.

I reached out to Goodyear and they have said that they don't have plans to homologate the SuperSport R for the GT2/3 RS, despite the GT3 RS wearing the SuperSport R at Goodyear's press event. Only the SuperSport RS will be N-rated.
I hope Goodyear will make the SuperSport R N-rated one day.

Shame they are not prepared or Porsche won't come to the party with the N Spec - The tire range for GT cars is a problem.
(1) Firstly the MPSC2 N2 are at best a fair weather friend - they are hopeless on a wet track or wet road
(2) . The Pilot Sport 4S is a great road tire and very good in the wet - in fact I use this tire in road rally events because it can handle the wet and that is where you lose most of your time in a wet multi day event.
(3). They need a true track focussed tire e.g. something with strong sidewalls and more than 2mm of sticky rubber - the Cup2 R and RS are a start in that direction.
So they will end up with
(a) . A winter tire
(b) . A high performance tire with good wet weather performance tire e.g. 4S
(c) . A true cross over tire - they more or less have this in the MPSC2 N2
(d) . A true track focussed tire - e.g. something more than the MPSC2R N0

I just ordered a couple sets from tire rack. Running Trofeo Rs right now, which I absolutely love, but for so much less $, I really want to see how these 3Rs stack up. Not to mention the Teofeos are sold out nationwide. As soon as I get them out to the track I’ll post my impressions.

I noticed they now offer our size, and was literally just talking to a buddy who has a ZL1 ILE, which those tires are stock, and he swears they are every bit as fast, and perhaps a bit faster than Trofeo-R, and he's driven on just about every streetable track tire, and is a Porsche guy as well, so I trust his input. Even Goodyear's official marketing says they are faster around their test track than a Trofeo-R. They are 5/32nds though, and the Camaro guys complain about tire life, but they are also hauling around 3800-4000lbs at crazy fast speeds, so I gotta believe the much lighter GT3 will be easier on those tires. That said, they will still wear out faster than a Cup2/Dunlop and probably a Trofeo, since they are the shortest tread of all.
I'm going to try and order a set. I think Goodyear has $75 off a set of 4 if you go to one of their retailers.
