Radar Mirror Tap
For those running windshield detectors and a Blendmount, are you able to run power via mirror tap (assuming you have auto dimming power to mirror) or are you having to run wiring to the fuse panel?

No auto dim rear view mirror = fuse box
Blendmount sells a quality mirror tap kit

I ended up tapping into the fuse panel. I didn't want to risk tapping into the rear view wires. Watch OG's install video, it will help.

You can thank Jnosol for figuring this out.

Did you need to lower the RD to fit the cam in between your RVM and the RD? A pic of the front of your RVM would be awesome?

Nevermind .. I just shot out to BesyBuy and bought one, fits well. Flashing green light is annoying and the app is kinda sucky, but it works. If somebody wants pics hit me up.

I can't answer your question directly as I just ended up running to the passenger fuse box (really easy to do) but since no reply yet I'll bite and try and help...Someone up above in this post appears to have done this, and there is a longer thread out there somewhere where others have done so as well, but I remember one person in the longer thread having an issue with their detector when they piggybacked the dash cam. Really depends on the current draw of all the devices. Other issue is does the dash cam have a 5V step-down or does it run on 12V?...Also physically fitting 2 mirror taps into the same spot will be tight, I think you'd mightt have to split one off the other...

It is a 5v power draw. You're right, the fitment will be pretty tight to get two taps in the same spot.
I'm going to run it temporarily off the USB in the glove box for now to see how everything works and then look at hardwiring options. I know the rear wiper fuse is switched with the ignition and will be open on my cabrio but I'm planning on adding the Joyeauto CarPlay box and using that fuse spot. Are there any open switched fuses on the passenger side?

I could split the power out of the RJ-11 connector on the MirrorTap and then power the Uniden with the RJ-11 connector and the dash cam with the micro usb. I know next to nothing about electrical wiring, though.
