GT2RS Production Lap Record at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta
I will just leave this here but it is fresh off the presses......
Edit to add the Gt3RS broke the record first followed by the GT2RS shattering it later

We know that 991 Cups run in the 1:23's at Road Atlanta. So if you take that test from Road America from a while back and put this car on much longer straights. I'd say it's within a second of a 991 Cup set up properly. Might actually be faster?

What did the Viper ACR run at the track?

Staggering performance. Look at how much faster an amateur 991 cup is thru T12... but how much faster the GT2RS is by T1. Its 13 MPH slower min speed T1, but 8 MPH faster T1!!! Crazy!!

Apparently they also ran a 3RS on Cup Rs and set a lap time of 1:26.240, which bettered the Vette ZR1 by about two tenths, despite a 200+ HP deficit.

Chatted some with Randy yesterday about the setup they used on the GT2RS and GT3RS. They used nothing but factory settings for both cars. They were using brand new sets of the Michelin Cup2R tires so they were always fresh tires to make the run. From out conversation Randy told me the bars were set in the middle, front and rear aero was set at maximum, rear ride height was set at the low end of the variance allowed by the factory. All the times they set during the day were with factory settings nothing outside the box to benefit the car only on the racetrack. A true drive it to the track setup on the cars. I do know that Randy did turn on PDK Sport, Stiff Shocks, loud exhaust, and he turned off ESC and ESC+TC on the car during the runs.

I love it! It's just another stop on the GT2RS lap record parade. I don't believe think that any era 911 street car has ever dominated like this. I put this car right up at the top of the bad a** 911's list. The little 3RS is plenty bad a** too considering what it can do with almost 200 hp less. Porsche rules!

So, add 180hp and get a 1.36 secs faster lap, on a track that has a massive back straight and a decent front straight.
It would be so nice if they showed the video in the .2 GT3RS, because I bet it has higher minimum speeds on most if not all turns.
Both cars are impressive, but I think the handling in the new .2 GT3 RS is at the top of any other Porsche 911 street car, the GT2 RS loses to it on handling but compensates with the extra power.
Is there any actual weight data from the 991.2 GT2 RS on calibrated scales? I'm trying to find why there is a significant handling difference and it could be related to weight and weight/distribution, and not just the downforce difference between the GT2 RS and GT3 RS.
