There are WAY too many sports car options out there in general, VERY few IMO will be collectible. I also think that because cars will be mostly automated, just driving a sports car will be special, let alone defining the difference between at GTS vs GT3 (we all know the feeling difference though).

Parked both cars side by side and they look like totally different from the back. The wing is mean and powerful while the subtle *** of the touring is like a hot chick in LuLu's.
Had lunch with my Winged buddy downtown Scotsdale. We parked back to back. 4 people took pics of the touring. No pics of the Winger.
Disclaimer...... May have been the Color. Ha

Depression, Porsche reduces number of variants, no 992 GT3 touring, instant classic being the last classic lines naturally aspirated race engine 911. ![ducking](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon107.gif)

I used to think "maybe", but after reading this, I'm convinced!

Any new opinions on this? Tourings have been flying off the shelfs lately.

I'll take the bait. I have one, like it a ton and think it will in no way, shape or form be a "future classic". I suppose this becomes a debate about the meaning of "classic". But while the touring is a great car, it's nothing special. They'll make more, the new ones will be better and the old ones will end up in the hands of folks who don't want to pay for the new one and folks who remain satisfied with their purchase. I like mine and that will lead me to buy the new one.

I guess the market is telling us they are pretty popular, whether that "sticks" will remain to be seen. I find the package pretty compelling to be a future classic, even if its just an "option," as it signals one of those change moments in 911 production. I hope everyone that has one of the last gen manual GT3's enjoys them regardless, they are great cars!

This Porsche frenzy happens every 2 years or so, and go back in read some of the post when many of the owners got their cars .........I will be dead before I give up my keys, it’s the best car I’ve owned now you see them for sale with less than 2k miles full of PPF and ceramic coating. I’ve had 6 Porsche’s since 2012, and I loved them all .....buy this round I said they will keep making them and I can always get one so not going to get my undies all tight. The good news my allocation will go to someone to have their dreams met, and they will sell it too. Happy New Years all, and it’s just a car took me a sh%t load of them to learn that. I’ve put more miles on my Speedster than all the Porsche’s I’ve owned .......so maybe this is one. I’ve owned it for 6 months and just sent it to PPF which is a good sign.

I love mine. And being a future classic will depend on how many 992 Tourings are made and sold. I'm guessing there won't be as many Tourings as people speculate for the 992 generation - but who knows.
Each generation of GT3s have their fans and reasons why that generation is the ultimate. If you're looking inthe 991.2 911 generation, the Touring seems like the favorite (toss up with the GT2RS for some). The 911R is a future classic because limited build and the best of the 991.1 breed. 997.2 was the GT3RS 4.0... etc etc.
Me? I bought mine at 14k miles and now have 18k miles. It's my daily... LWB and all. I have ZERO intention of selling it and have ZERO thoughts of any other car I would drive to work and for road trips to LA and back (I live in Silicon Valley). That will also drive the price - many people who have this generation touring don't seem to be that willing to sell theirs - even with a 992 coming. That dries up demand and increases value... but I'm still not sold it's a future classic.
