What an outstanding series of posts, photos, and memories! It's great to see you enjoying your gorgeous new GT3. Thanks for letting me relive a few memories of my ED tour 4 years ago. Have fun on the rest of your trip, and safe travels. Next time I'm in Portland, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you!

Thanks Daniel! Yes, please let me know if you are ever in town!
Our drive yesterday was uneventful, we left early to avoid traffic which I think worked well, particularly since it was Sunday. Unfortunately a significant portion of the trip was through Switzerland, where they have the speed limits cranked down on a lot of the roads for construction, tunnels, bridges, cat crossings- you name it! Probably 400 km of our 700+ km drive was through Switzerland. With that much time and slow driving, I became more aware of cameras everywhere- oh, and apparently I didn't buy the road tax vignette for Switzerland the first time through 40 Euros- I hope the cameras didn't catch me without one and send me a fine like they do in Austria. Anyways, the last 140 km in Germany was welcome, but the traffic was too busy for me to put in any land speed records. Even so 244 kph felt crazy fast after 120 kph max through Switzerland for 5 hours!
Heres the pics:
Crazy French guys love little Italian cars...
And French ones too! Never seen so many DS's in one place!
We took a cooking class yesterday with the head chef of the Michelin Starred Bonne Etape- it was really fun!
Mountains near Grenoble- more French secondary roads but light traffic allowed me to have some fun in the twisty bits!
Car drop off lot, they really cram them in there!
Anyone we know?
Safe and sound? Bye for now- see you in November??
Final trip data- no land speed record, I really tried but gaps today were too small!
Thanks for having us "ride" along- looked like it was an incredible and memorable trip for the both of you! Makes me look forward to the day the wife and I are hopefully afforded the opportunity to do so. Enjoy the car in good health!
What a great adventure, well done.
How would you say the GT3 serves under this kind of touring? Bucket seats do well for you two?
Thanks for sharing this fantastic trip.
So here is the "official" group photo where your journey started! So happy that it worked out so nicely for you and your wife and you always will have good memories from the crazy group of GT lovers in Leipzig.
