Angry I'm an idiot/First post

I stupidly thought there might still be a GT3 allocation out there (somewhere). Way too late. It looks like I'll have to wait for the 992 variant. I was just at "Barrier" in Bellevue, WA and was informed that although they didn't mark up the 991.2 GT3 (but did with GT3RS), they will be marking up the 992s. Asked by how much, I was told $50K. Outrageous.

There’s possibly 100 for sale lots of inventory ........unless you want a configurable allocation. Why wait if you can find a good car ......my first RS had 400 miles good luck.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. I thought a GT2 RS had a chance against a cup car at Road America. It happens.

@TRAKCAR that was my thought and hope too. I'm not as keen on the 992 as the 991.2 - 911s are getting increasingly luxurious and Panamera-like which doesn't interest me. But I'll probably have to bite the bullet and get in the next queue: cars not available until 2020 or 2021. The 992 might grow on me in the intervening years...

Any 991.2 GT3 with a manual transmission would be fine. I want it for driving, not to sell on. Where are these 100 for sale? I realize my local dealer is only looking in his network (one reason I just finally joined Rennlist after being a Porsche owner for 21 years - to get more & better info than what's being doled out at the dealer)

You are not alone. Happened to me a couple of months ago... I've been following the market closely since then... People tell me to wait for the winter or early next year until the frenzy dries out ...

On my end cash is at hand, ready for when the right opportunity shows up.

Good hunting!

There are still some allocations available. The December ones won’t lock until November or so.

Very few, and expect to pay (one was listed at $20k over in classified and seemed to be getting brisk responses).

Only thing you cant get anymore is PTS as the deadline for December allocations was August 20.

I don't know about that, but you've chosen an excellent handle. Welcome to RL...

2020?

Just buy buy a used one. A link was posted with a list of cars. I sent you a pm as well.

why wait. Buy one now and get a new one in 2 years.

2020? 2021? I’ll have gone through like 6 cars by then.

Interesting. My local dealer is oversubscribed. I went to another, less local dealer via porsche, com but I think I'll have to look further afield. Of course local dealer has no interest in that...

Thanks. I sent you a bit of a bum steer when I said "any GT3", sorry. Forgot about the T. I tend to keep cars for a long time: I like to form a bond, ideally not one of epoxy... Trashed a 993 and then kept hold of a 996. Typical really. Had I kept the 993 I'd probably be able to buy a GT3 with the money now! (Nobody wants a 996... yet)
