So many manual GT3's for sale
#181
Ebay has a used high option spec GBM with only 4k over MSRP and it's still sitting. I got an offer for MSRP yesterday with front wrap but didn't like the color so his tells me the 991.2 GT3 market is getting really soft

IMO PAG is making a lot more than people thought, with their assumption that the .2 GT3 would be made in very limited quantities + many would clammer over the new MT option because of the R so the rising tide would bring premiums up for all the GT3. Now tons of PDK and MT available as dealers and flippers are realizing the car isn't as limited as they thought it would be. Hell, PAG supposedly even opened up more 2RS and GT3 allocations this month for December according to others... Good time to be a buyer as more GT cars are still being delivered as we speak and people/dealers "backing out" as premiums drop and they realize the flip will bite them right after taxes/registration/PPF or whatever.

So I have two months in my 991.2 MT GT3 and I love the driving experience. It is the best manual I have driven and I am impressed how easy it is to drive a 500hp car with clutch modulation. As all the reviewers say-it is a more engaging experience-I did not buy this car to make good lap times at COTA, if I wanted that I would get a PDK or possibly an RS.

Is it possible that the flippers/speculators all went for MT's because of the R, never really wanted the car and now want out. The take rate for MT's was supposedly 70-75% in the US which in itself was interesting

Bingo, I think this happened. So now you have a bunch of (IMO crappy specs) MT sitting around and not even coming close to the premiums flooding the market. I bet many folks that wanted allocations TO DRIVE and not flip (personally me) would have specced a PDK and would have already put thousands of miles on it. Instead you have a flooded market of R wannabe's that folks thought they were going to make a fast buck.

Lots depends on next GT3 engine being NA or Turbo....the one year only NA 18 would be coveted either manual or PDK...it will take on a last of the air cooled dynamic..what they do with the next generation 3RS will also determine values going forward

Flippers flippers flippers, o wait maybe not. Maybe people realize that the so called “engagement” in the manual gt3 is not that engaging. If you wanna a real engaging driving experience, do yourself a favour, get a 997rs, .1.2 does not matter, or even a 996 gt3. O wait you know what’s even better? Go drive a g body 3.2 Carrera, with 915 or g50, I don’t care. Or a sc or a 964. Then you know what real engagement is. For the 991 gt cars, just let the pdk do their job. Just my 0.02 of course.

I've had '15 and '16 GT3 with PDK and now have an '18 manual. Manual more engaging experience and greater skills needed on road and especially on track. More satisfying drive and greater control of inputs.

Let’s face it, this was a BS thread started on an anecdotal glimpse at some cars for sale on a website. No one should be drawing any conclusions from the title or the ‘data’ presented.
