I've been waiting for a white Daytona since March (thank God Rolex doesn't offer PTS). The rumor is that supply should ease up in the next 2-3 months. Can anyone confirm Rolex and Porsche utilize the same production software?
I unfortunately heard the opposite that Rolex is clamping down on SS production to keep demand and appearance of scarcity high. Just look at grey market/2nd hand BNIB pricing as well with SS Daytona now reaching over 20k, Hulk over 11k, etc. Many ADs received word of this apparently as well. Hope I'm wrong but seems like Rolex is trying to move more towards holy trinity AP/PP etc for very desirable steel pieces, and push the precious metal stuff.

So which current Rolex is the most in demand and will hold value the best (or increase) in the long run?
SS Daytona black or white dial with white fetching a slightly higher price due to people mistakenly thinking the white dial looks better
If you can get your hands on one you're looking at a profit of maybe 6-7k on a 12k watch, with people being told the waitlists are 3-4-5-6+ years

profit is more like 12kish right now for a white one new
Rolex dealers play some of the same game as P. Buy Platinum Daytona now, and we'll get you a stainless ceramic ASAP. Cut the line. To me Rolex dealers are far more civilized versus P.

Could very well be, but don't forget about sales tax (especially in places like CA 10%) and if you sell to a jeweler he will need a cut too, but they wire instantly (no tire kickers) and give you shipping label

Yep same in my experience. At least it's clearcut. You can wait in line which means you'll basically never get the watch (at least in California and Hawaii), or was told if I picked up a WG Daytona for retail, they "might" miraculously have a white dial SS Daytona available in the safe.

Or sell second hand like what I did..=). Buyer pays all fees. Out of state sales are no taxes as well.
