here’s another perscpective. I chose Touring because I liked how it looked. Period. I didn’t choose it because it looked stealth (although I did see that as a possible benefit). I just preferred the look over one with wing. And I love the wing look as well, just liked the touring 2% better).
I chose wingless cause I already had one with the wing. different strokes for different folks.
Chris and Erik, thanks for the pics of the black anodized aluminum interior standard Touring trim.
On to another question, this time about exterior trim. Anyone order the standard Touring light aluminum exterior trim and hate it? That’s my fear. The gap is more noticeable (relative to the black trim) around the rear window and it’s the same trim used on every other Porsche. To change to black you have to replace rear windows so there’s no easy fix. But the light aluminum trim seems to work really well on the Touring, especially on darker colors.
I went with touring black after overthinking the decision on my GT Silver car. Had I stuck with Silver trim and felt different about it after delivery my PPF installers showed me some awesome wrap options for the trim. I was confident he could make it look black with a clean look.
Is there a Touring owner with silver trim and the default silver wheels that's willing to do me a favor..?
I've been working with NS2 Media on a custom side stripe (they're awesome!), and am wondering which color of 3M vinyl will be the closest match to the silver trim/wheels on a Touring. Unfortunately my car doesn't arrive until December, so I can't compare the swatches myself. From looking at photos online, it looks like the usual "Matte Silver" is a bit darker than the trim/wheels in many lighting conditions, so I'm thinking "Satin White Aluminum" or "Gloss Sterling Silver" may be better matches (especially the last one).
Would anyone be willing to let me (well, Renn Decals) mail them some swatches, and compare/take some photos to determine which would be the best match? I'll pay for the swatches and shipping, of course.
I wish Porsche offered those lights! I would have spec'd them in a second. They look like the PDLS xenons, but with black outer rings and a dark chrome bulb housing (as opposed to gray ring and bright chrome bulb housing).
