I have had 3 Macans. With and without PTV.
My current turbo has it. Honestly you cannot notice it.
It is, IMHO, entirely not necessary. Save your money.

just realized my typical track car, lotus, has an open diff. never notice an issue with that either. granted a midengined 2000 lb sports car is different from a front biased 4000 lb truck...

Cannot speak about Macan, but on GT3 it's working very well. Most of the work it does it on powering out of the corner - it eliminates understeer when the nose comes up under power. Rear brake wear is negligible - in the 4 years I have the car, I'm on my third set of rear pads and second set of rotors only, which compares favorably to the number of engines I went through :-) , and I lost count of front pads already.
On a Cayenne, I'd pick it because it adds a rear locking diff, and Cayenne does lift nose to the sky and understeers when powering out of high-speed turns, just like a 911 (true Porsche DNA, I guess LOL), especially in comfort mode. Don't know about Macan though.

ED, brakes on fire after 2 laps, tried again but again smoke billowing off all 4 corners.
ButI was very impressed with the rest!
Still have the same rotors and pads on the car with no ill effect.

LSD was a (highly desirable) option on lotus.
LSD regardless of form is excellent in snow. It’s not a mechanical locker, but some of them are very close and in a lot of situations better. I would get it in a Macan. In a GT3 it is mechanical in manual and electronic in a PDK. You do get torque vectoring in a manual, it is just different.

Have also tracked Macan S. Car handles really well without it. I would spend the money on a good set of summer wheels/tires instead. The Lattitide 3’s are awesome.
