Default Bolster Wear Upon Delivery?

Car arrived to dealer today, 5 miles on the odo but passenger bolster is worn somehow!! It’s not a big crease but still a crease nonetheless. Anyone else experiencing this?

Not a big deal obviously as it’s bound to happen and I already ordered bolster protectors but just curious if others are seeing this.

All I could find was a similar thread on gt4 sub forum: https://rennlist.com/forums/987-981-...t4-spyder.html

Edit: bolster is CREASED not worn

^ Yes can happen and nothing to worry about. But there is a reason many purchase the Bolster protectors. A crease is really nothing. It is leather and will occur. When that area is worn it will have more than a crease. Have you ever seen worn leather that has been rubbed considerably??!!

one of our business is apparel and some are leather. your bolster is not WORN. it has creases, they are natural. dont worry about it. i actually like those creases as each piece of leather has unique creases much like finger prints.

Tech probably sat on the bolster. Going to happen eventually.

Follow up question: would bolster protectors protect against creasing? I assume not because crease is caused by weight being applied to that spot which pushes it down causing a crease regardless of bolster protector being there

He is the last guy on the GT assembly line who drives the car off to be delivered or shipped. He has requested a transfer to the Panamera line as he hates LWB seats. Consider it his *** crease to you. No charge.

They should change the seat or refund the $5500.

FYI I found that all the GT4 I have seen delivered (including mine) has the same crease on the passenger side bolster. Some also have the crease on the driver buckle side... Go figure.

Here is just a random GT4 interior photo I found online...

It is a defect. It should not be delivered with this crease on one spot only.

When I took delivery of my GT4 the LWB had the same exact problem but mine had 2 miles on it. It will only get worse. Buy Eddies Lwb protector.

I'm going to bring it up so that it is documented in my service history for a warranty claim down the line in case it gets worse prematurely. I may also contact PCNA so they advise everyone in the supply chain to be careful with these seats. But realistically, theres no way Porsche replaces the entire seat for this.

Also, I think even with eddies LWB protection, these types of creases will still happen over time. Whether it happens day 1 or day 100, it is what it is. At least it won't be visible with the protector covering it

You never know until you ask. I had them provide me a new leather dash.

Probably stacked in a giant semi when they ship them from Recaro or Lear or whoever to Porsche. No biggie.
