MY completion build date was moved from September 14th to July 20th. My delivery date moved from early November to September 28th. The 28th date is probably closer to the 14th of September based on past experience.

I wonder what's going on? I never had my car moved up by two months. Not that I am complaining.

All black wheel is my choice but I’m debating on the stripe because it’s unique to the RS.

Do it! It will look great

I went from V260 8-3-2018 to V260 7-6-2018. Build date only a month earlier but delivery date two months earlier.

That's because factory is closed in August. So now your car will ship out as soon as it's ready instead of sitting in Germany for an extra month.

I have a theory as why many of the RS allocations are being moved up. I don't have any facts to support the theory but it is plausible.

My understanding is the GT models are built on the same line as the regular 911 models. Since it is well known that the 992 will be introduced this fall, the anticipated 991 orders have fallen short and he line production is being filled by the RS builds. Also, it is rumored that the GT3 production will end in June and that also freed up space on the line to build the RS.

The result of all this is more RS's will be built which should be good news for those waiting for an allocation.

The only current model 991.2 you can order is a GTS. So your idea is in most likely a fact. Another contributing factor is the supply issue with WP. it seems that non-WP cars are being pulled forward and WP cars pushed back. so if you are inline for a Non-WP car, there is a strong chance you will get it early.

Ah, that makes sense. My car is non-WP.

My build was locked early by Porsche, I assumed it was due to the build date being moved up. However, dealer sent me the build info today and the build dates have not changed at all. I however did have WP on my build, so Chris your hypothesis appears to be correct. The only thing that changed on my build was confirmation of my ED date, which prompted Porsche to lock it early for some reason. My guess is to ensure there are no last minute changes on my build which would delay my scheduled ED date.

Ditto.......but only moved up two weeks with delivery on or around the 14th of September. Hoping as with my 2018 718 CS it shows up 3+ week or so early.

My WP car got moved up as mentioned with dealer delivery on August 31st. So maybe not entirely accurate regarding WP vs non-WP?

Would be interesting to hear from anybody with a factory visit during the next month or so just to see what is actually flowing down the line.

What does the a factory visit include and what part do you have to pay for the privilege? What do you need to arrange and what does Porsche take care of?

Was there almost exactly a month ago (Zuffenhausen) and honestly every other car seemed to be a GT car, both on the line and freshly built with protective wrapping waiting to be shipped (35% GT3/GT3T, 10% GT3RS, 10% GT2RS if I had to guess)

I'm not sure about arranging it independently, but it comes with Euro Delivery (Leipzig and Zuffenhausen). You'll get a tour of various parts of the factory/production line, explanation of the production process/how the lines & factory guys work. I think my tour was about an hour long? Very, very cool experience!!
