Is that because PAG/PCNA has reduced the profit margin on GT cars and therefore dealers are hoping to make up the difference with options? Or do the final MSRP of the cars sold add to a yearly goals number that has to be achieved for future considerations, spiffs, etc?

This is my theory.
PAG/PCNA must force models down the throat of their Dealers and these are low margin models that tie up a bunch of Capital and they have to cut steep discounts to move it. Dealers probably not happy. Now- they get these "GT" cars and now they want to jack the prices and make some coin. PAG/PCNA all look the other way because they figure it is a "two way street" so they care less what Dealers charge for them

Bingo. Exactly. What I have been saying for years. The GT allocations are rewards to dealers in a variety of different ways. Not just how many 911 models they sell.

Not a theory at all, absolute fact. However, Porsche has to understand that a lot of their sportscar customers want the GT cars a lot more than the standard 911s, and should at least shift the sports car production accordingly, assuming they can do it and still stay within the fleet wide average fuel economy standards. Producing any base 911's or any 718's when you've got a GT3 customer sitting there with cash in hand is stupid.

+1, you nailed it
Dealerships purchase an automated listing service and every VIN that comes in gets listed whether it is sold/ordered by customer or not. This automation saves each dealership a HUGE amount of work and they can focus on their customers. It is also desirable to have buyers calling the dealership so sales can engage them towards a result.

wow, i liek that spec at CJ's store.
stripper is baller
i see a lot of ppl often refer to how many cars for sale on ebay autotrader etc
i dont quite understand why post it.
if i wanted to buy a car, i start calling every ad and not tell anyone here about it to add to my competition. and like many said, the ads are not "real".
if u really want a car, a small ADM can land you a car very quickly.
if you are a serial buyer, not always, but a msrp car is quite possible
if one just talks and chitty chitty chat chat, i have 4 PTS GT3 for sale at $100k over ;-)
