The true limit is the number of built bodies in the facility.

One thing I know is that Porsche won't have an idle assembly line. They need to pump them out daily to make $$. Seeing Carrera's are on the decline in production and other than that it's 718's and GT's on the line. Right?

Turbo Coupe and GT3RS and GT2RS have interchangeable shells (side scoops).

Convertibles are the hardest shells to repurpose, so if there is suddenly an influx of convertible iterations (Carrera T roadster?) then they miscalculated.

You mean like the speedster? Lol. I hope they have 1948 shells laying around to build those. I just talked to my SA today about another matter (we are friendly) and mentioned my continued interest in a speedster (I think he has given up trying to get me to buy an RS lol).

question: are the shells 100% the same between AWD turbos and RS? I know the frunk space is different on AWD cars, but maybe that is not part of the Shell.

Build baby build! What's interesting too is that the 2019 GT3RS allocations should have been released by now but my SA told me yesterday that their 2019 allocations are not yet available. I wonder if Porsche is trying to figure out how many GT cars they can pump out in 2019 for US and non-EU countries.

I have seen several GT2 and GT3 RS available over the past few days. Seems like the scarcity is manufactured.

Yup, wait until the 918 VIPs hit their 1 year mark and are able to sell their cars.

Is anyone doing/finding better than $140k over for the GT2RS? If so by how much? Thanks!

Have one here at the shop that is less than that. I can get you in contact with the owner if you'd like!

I believe it is still pretty rare unless folks are keeping them locked up in their garage hoping for low mileage and massive value increases. :P
I'm in SoCal also, and I rarely see .2 GT3's in the wild (C&C and gatherings, excepted). I'll see 5-10 458 or 488's on any weekend in Newport before one GT3, if any.

Also, a friend sold his 991.2 GT3 to a dealer at MSRP with 900 miles. Just another data point.

Black/black with yellow stitching GT2RS available at local dealer. Has WP and mag wheels. I'm not sure if markup but can put you in touch if interested.
