Does Suntek Ultra use a nano-infused top coat? They mention a hydrophobic top coat but that's it.

Since some earlier comments, I have also seen a comment on another forum that using a coating on XPEL will void the warranty ? Correct or not ?

it depends on coating, but xpel is actually one of the manufacturers that recommends putting on a coating. We recommend a nano spray sealant at a minimum. Almost all out PPF installations include a nano coating on them. And the rare case a client just wants PPF, we apply CarPro Reload, a nano spray sealant that XPEL recommends

To my knowledge, I believe that's how they achieve the hydrophobic response. It's pretty good but not great. The Clear Guard Nano has the best in my experience.

If you're going to do anything and you don't want to be burdened with acquiring perfection, just do a wash, chemical and mechanic decon and then knock it down with a refinement pad and something like Menzerna SF3500/SF4000 (Po105fa). It will not cut but it will give you some gloss. Just be very sure to chemically decontaminate after you do this or you will leave a ton of oils/lubricants on the paint. Have fun!

It is not impossible to do the install yourself! Ok, I had to admit the first job I did on my old M3 was horrible. So I redid the car again, then again two more times. Same on the RS, I had to redo it, but the second install came out nice. Now after the GTS and the 650s installs I am pretty confident. I used to like doing it with my son, took us an entire day with cleaning the garage first etc.
But now I started questioning myself if all this is necessary.
I may just do the metal parts this time and forget the bumpers. The hood is very easy to do, may just go for that.

I use Suntek on all my cars and I always coat on top of it as well. Works great
