To Wing or Not to Wing, That is the Question.

I prefer the "walk softly, but carry a BIG stick" approach the Touring Package offers those of us that choose it.
There's no practical need for a wing IMO, especially if the car never/rarely sees the surface of a race track- unless you subscribe to the "Look at me, I'm a racer!!" visual approach.
Not fooling anyone!![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

The less you look flashy, the less attention from the cops.

My only question is, if they included those massive scoops on the wing, presumably because the engine needed them.. how do they explain the touring without them? Is it ALL for show? I would have expected the Touring to come with scoops if they were that indispensable.

This being my first GT3 I'm excited about the wing and race car-ish look. But it does look gorgeous and classy without the wing. If I had been driving GT3's for years I could see preferring the wing delete for a more subtle approach.

When my SA said to configure one and send him the code I picked a touring (and got excited for 3 minutes that I might actually be allowed to give them $152K for one...stripper build baby, which makes it even less likely I’ll get an allocation haha). But the more I think about it the more I like the winged one.
Not because I like the wing. I kind of hate it by itself, and would NEVER spec it on a “regular” 911 even if it was an option. But part of me says let a GT3 be a GT3.
I despise alcantara anywhere except as a headliner and the touring seems to have better interior options. But a white or silver one really pops and the wing just seems to belong.

It felt wrong not to wing.

Lots of GT3s with Wings. Not many without. I’m still on the fence but leaning to wingless as I see it as a more unique model. It’s discrete to the casual onlooker and the wife won’t mind taking it out on date night. With a wing no date night.

I need the wing. Otherwise, I'd suffer from Wing envy. I see a lot of wingless 911's every day, and one thing I notice is that many of those drivers manually lift their rear spoiler when cruising at low speeds. They have wing envy. I think the car looks great in both forms, but the wing just adds that extra bit of special.

Imagine an airplane without wings. That's how I felt when I heard the T package was coming on A GT3. Needless to say I chose the wing but to each their own and happy for everyone who gets to enjoy it. Wing or no wing.

You already have a PDK cab for daily driving in traffic. I think you should go for a manual regardless, and buy the one that looks better to you. You can have full leather on either. They will both drive the same on roads and even on tracks for most people.
My manual is gonna be at the dealership this week.

The Touring looks too busy in the front, and too business in the back sans the wing. It looks 'off' without it. The busyness needs to flow contiguously front to back, otherwise it looks like a neutered dog.
