OT - 911T

This sounds nice, but I'm still dreaming of a new 912 with the 718 base or S motor.
300hp, 6 spd, cloth 4-ways, 18in wheels and zero bells and whistles would make me a happy camper.
Not a popular opinion I'm sure but, I would love a simple, light weight (cheap) new 911. lol

I'm very interested in this 911T as well, it will makes a great DD.
Hope this car is more than just some sort of value package special like that of the Black Series.

And I don't think we want any more cars sounding like the 718 4 cylinder engine, it's truly horrible. I'm struggling to understand the appeal of this car for Porsche.. why build anything in the cayman's price range? You can already buy a regular 911 and not add any options to it.. I'm curious to see what they come out with to differentiate this "T" version.

I think the new Turbo Flat-4 weighs about the same as the old NA Flat-6 from the 991.1 Carrera. So, weight savings will negligible (but the engine would likely sit farther forward for a little less rear weight bias.

Agree on the second part as well, unless they truly do something special, like putting the 6 speed in it rather than the 7 speed and, one can dream, putting an N/A motor in it. Build a light weight simple 911 with a 6 speed, even with lower power motor in it, and it will have a following. Put a 4 banger turbo in it and all you'll do is cannibalize Cayman sales.
My expectation is that it's just going to be a base 911, 3l turbo, 7 speed manual, with some styling nonsense.

Lol - mods took some of my post over here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/911-foru...l#post14488884
Anyway, here is my original post back (mods, please leave in this forum).
-----------
So one of our favourite cleaning ladies chrisNNNN has mentioned the 911T - a back to basics Carrera is coming soon.
This beautiful video (seriously great videography) got me thinking about it.
Chris or other cleaning ladies, can you tell us much about what to expect?
I assume turbo 3.0? 4 way seats only? Chrome highlights? Do tell.

should be here (as in Au) from second half of next year, essentially its a low spec base Carrera with special trims inside etc.
it will also be priced about 15% lower than a base Carrera too. could be a good daily driver for some, although i can't see what the appeal would be.
