There are two holes on he back of the steering wheel, you insert something (I used a punch bit) to unclick the airbag from either side, then disconnect the airbag harness and then unscrew the steering wheel nut. I don't recall but I might have had to disconnect the battery cable. The fear of the air bag blowing in my face must have dictated that.
Thanks Sam! Disconnecting the battery will be the first thing i do!

The option is $610 if you include stitching. Without stitching $470. I suppose if your car has the leather dash with stitching it would make sense to add this.

To be clear, the $610 is if it is in a stitching color other than platinum or red (such as if you selected an alternative stitching color option for the car). The $470 still comes with stitching.

Good to know. If that's the case, this is a worthwhile option. My car is slated to go into production on September 9th. Not sure If I can add it but I will try. I have GR stitching on my leather dash.

Eduardo, thanks. I tried to add this to my build but my status is V250 and my SA tells me it is impossible. To quote him "Once it is at V250 even if you wanted to add $50,000 in options to your build status, PAG would say no." Now that I would find hard to believe.

I installed it, fairly easy for me. The leather door sills are a nice touch as well.

Default Leather Steering Column

Exclusive Option offers a leather steering column featuring matching or deviated stitching. This is a great upgrade to any 991/981 which has the leather dash package as it extends the level of detail and craftsmanship. The steering wheel column can be seen from passengers side and when the driver's door is open.

Our standard of craftsmanship has been described as OEM-Like and is applied across our product line. We carry most OEM leather colors and threads in stock; more information may be seen directly on our site:

View the gallery of our steering wheel columns and for any more info regarding other interior components, feel free to PM us or email.
