Note: 2021 is the last year for the Land Cruiser in the US since we’re stupid people. So if you want one new, put in your order now. I think I read that production is ramping up the next few months and tapering off in March.

It’ll live on in theory as a Lexus LX - but that 60 year name dies here shortly.

All this Land Cruiser talk inspired me to take the FJ62 to the office today. Can't speak to reliability of newer ones, but just got this back after 8 months in 2 shops that scoured the country for several out of production pieces for repairs, in addition to lots "standard" maintenance. Typically this is my basset hound shuttle.

yes so far this looks accurate which is dumb as the landcruiser name is the most powerful in 4x4 and overlanding in the world. the next gen 2022 landcruiser gets unveiled in about 3-6 months and will come to the usa as a lexus only it looks like

my hunch is toyota will release a toyota landcruiser in 2023 after a public outcry

edit: looks like new 2022 fj300 landcruiser arrives in spring of 2021 in japan first

@atlrvr @bmw_e30 @itrsteve @Hothonda Good to see Land Cruiser enthusiasts here. 👍. I’ve owned every series LC. But just like my journey back to ac 911 (currently prepping one as my US driver), I’m going backwards with LC. I have an 80 for my Asia driver.

Turbo diesel, stick, <75k miles, LHD, triple lockers. Other interesting OEM options include part-time 4WD, 2 AC systems, console refrig/cooler, electric winch, rear tire carrier. Bought from original owner who ordered directly from Toyota Japan. New tires on the way.

Not telling you anything that you don't already know - but the Land Cruiser name could be a brand within itself that's revered around the world... Except in the United States, where it has to be packaged as a friggen Lexus to attract buyers. Pretty sad how stupid we are.

I'm sure the new 300 series-based LX will be attractive, but with a gun to my head, I'd pick my LC200 over my GT3 without flinching. It would be difficult to part from.

i know the landcruiser name has been around since 1951 so it has 70 years of brand equity would be a shame to not have that name in the usa next year

i'm almost the same with my 200 series i love it so much and it does everything really really well i've never seen a better built and engineered mass produced vehicle and i know the 300 series will continue the tradition

my favorite thing is you can buy any landcruiser at cost if you are a humanitarian group through tgs
