Maintenance wise it’s pretty much zero maintenance, just brakes and tires.
Couldn't agree more. I DD a Model S as well and I freaking love this car for daily duty...

Makes hopping in the 3RS even more visceral, too.

I’d be interested to hear thoughts on daily driving an R8. I have an S7 now but don’t need the room. Great looking car and it goes like stink (2016 w APR) but I think an R8 would be great. I have very little real winter driving as I’m in Charlotte NC.

I can update in the near future and allow others following thread to chime in but after about 100 miles seat time I can tell it really is a very usable "supercar".
Ride is smooth and not harsh. My car is a Gen1 and has BC coilovers. Very common for OEM magnetic shocks to leak/fail. The suspension is set medium hight and does not rub on speed bumps.
Clutch feel and engagement point great. Good bite and not heavy.
Gated shifter smooth and precise not notchy
Great climate control, well laid out switches & controls
Comfortable seats and very comfortable driving position and good visibility. Has backup camera.
Bluetooth little slow and Nav etc of course dated.

I sold the dedicated race car and bought this track modified street legal Cayman S. Although not too comfortable over the bumps on our messed up Orlando roads, (especially I-4) ironically I love the race seats and 6 point harness on the street. I say ironically because when I spec’d my 981 Spyder, I thought the buckets would be too uncomfortable for street driving. I’ve had recent lower back pain and I’ve found the race seats in the Cayman are kinder to my back than the sofa seats in the Spyder. Now I wish I’d spec’d sport buckets. Oh, and the Cayman has what every track car needs, a Burmeister Stereo system. :-) That stereo is awesome.

If not a wrap looks almost like Galileo blue or Mexico blue.... Not a color for everyone, but I like it. Nice and clean!! So comfortable.

Daily now is 80% dirt, 40% low range. Good on highway at 105, super at 70 on dirt, and decent in rock crawl, although width gets in the way.
