The reason people want this gt3 is the 500hp NA engine and manual gearbox - minus the wing (the wing gets far too much attention in the city, and I hate the haters).
Majority of Porsche drivers just want a car like R and Porsche just needs to satisfy that demand.
To me the new gt3 is the "baby R",

I know it doesn't seem to make sense to many here but to those with small kids who get just as excited as us about cars, it's a wonderful opportunity to go for a drive. I put back seats in my GT350R - probably the only one like it - but my kids and I spend quality time making lots of noise and laughing at their heads bouncing off the headrests with slight throttle. (very slight bounce, more of a nudge really)

I would love a GT3 without a wing and with backseats. But that car would no longer be a GT3. Which is why I didn't get a GT3.
Conceding performance gains for aesthetics and the ability to carry kids violates the conceit of the GT3 being a track weapon, IMO. Radio delete should still be an option.

Porsche family members took delivery of their RS's without ducktail and some w/ sportomatic. Ferry's RS was pale green metallic w/o ducktail or badges. But what did they know compared to the real experts on Internet forums? Porsche even put leftover 2.7 RS motors in regular 911 bodies just to sell them off. Now they can do that and cause pandemonium among the true believers and poseurs!

Because why not? They do not add any noticeable weight or take up space. They do not make GT3 less of a performance/driver's car. Going to a cabin on a weekend on a nice mountain road is much nicer in a GT3 than in a Cayenne, but it becomes not an option if you have kids.

i once thought porsche was german.
this burger king your way approach of burger your way is very american.
just make it one color one way and get on with it.
send it over and i'll drive it.
too many choices drive me nuts.
