Thank you for the heads up. I will await the results of their test at Sebring and see what kind of improvements they can make, along with your feedback.

this was bumped from another thread....
Hello BK77, hope all is well. Are you thinking of installing the Manthey suspension? Another well known member here and I were talking about requesting Manthey to install their suspension on the GT2RS. They might come here if there is a "Group Buy/Install"?
I was informed although not sure yet that the lift can be kept if need be, instead of deactivating it.

I talked with Gavin from AutoQuest yesterday and they are currently working on a suspension solution for the .2 3RS and 2RS, as well as exhaust. They have a 2RS that they are testing a new Fabspeed exhaust on along with a softer set of springs. He's very confident that with a softer spring and a few adjustments of the factor setup that it should make a world of difference on the track. They are testing at Sebring next month so I'm going to hold off until they come up with a solution. They are also able to get the water expansion tank from Manthey if we want it, both are needed if you plan on tracking the car..IMO

The Manthey solution is a piggyback reservoir made of metal that connects to the the standard carbon water tank. It is installed above the normal tank.
If you can source a connector to the carbon tank it is fairly easy building your own tank.

Imagine if the 2RS revved to 8k like the Fiat and Macca??? That would be a sound.

Nice vid although he makes the usual uninformed Journo error by saying the GT2RS has the same water injection system as the M4GTS which as we know is total BS, the GT2RS sprays its distilled water over the external intercooler core face - totally different to the BMW system !

Off topic, but wanted to see what people would do. I took my 991.1 GT3RS in for a check engine light. Turned out to be a thermostat that wasn't fully opening. Not a big issue. Took the dealer 39 days to fix the problem. They first replaced the thermostat and then, after further consultation with Porsche technical, replaced the thermostat housing, various seals and the temperature sensor. This all takes 39 days. I went to pick up the car today and learned that during this time, they put roughly 200 miles on the car. I immediately squawked at the mileage (the car only had 2700 miles when I dropped it off) and they said that is what it took to diagnose, test, etc.
Am I right to be upset? I talked to the service director and he assured me no joyrides and that they keep mileage documentation along the way while it is in service. I asked him for those records. He said he couldn't immediately give them to me, but that he could have them pulled (seemed like a convenient answer if you were going to create some documentation that goes along with your story). He also offered me "some compensation" for the trouble. I didn't ask what that was and said that we should examine his records first. I thought it was odd that he immediately jumped to compensation for no apparent issue.
My guess is that he or the GM or some other manager took the car home as their driver a few times while it was there for 39 days. If that's true, then they're never going to fess up to anything.
Suggestions? Am I nuts? Should I just go directly to Porsche NA on this?

I'd be pissed if that was my car! Especially since I know in detail how things work at the dealer service department level...
