The BBS RE 1640/1641 are available in both the 991.2 GT2RS & 991.2 GT3RS fitment. Custom colors outside of the Silver & Black are also available. At the typing of this post I have some in-stock but they go quickly.

OK guys help me out. I've seen the perfect GT2 RS but of course it's at a premium. Would I be dumb to pay $200K over sticker? I don't know if these are numbered cars or not. I want it but that price tag

How your PM is filling up the coming weeks should be an indication.
Personally, I typically seem to agree with Porsche on the value and price point of the cars.
But in the GT2RS case they are really testing what one will pay for a GT3RS with a TT motor..
Awesome car of course and as always Porsche GT cars add up to more than the sum of their parts in regards to track performance..
If potentially writing off $200K on a car in a year or two is acceptable for the trill of owning a GT2RS, why not.
Me thinks for that money you can get a configurable allocation.

It all depends on how much 200K means to you. If 200K is not a big deal to you, do it. If it could negatively affect you and your family don't do it....pretty simple.

Yes that is the thing about it. It's a GT3 RS with a modified turbo engine. I'm more of the compromise here and gain there kind of guy. I was even thinking about getting a .2 GT3 RS and putting a supercharger on it if I had to and save $300K I'd have the best sounding and purist 911 due to no turbo lag with the power of a GT2 RS. It still has the turbo body and that is what I love the most. Something the GT3/RS lacked in the past.

If $1m means nothing to you as described above, that doesn’t mean that you should spend it on a sandwich that you really like. No rich person stays rich thinking like this. 60% of the $500k market “value” of the 2RS is unobtanium, branding, and status signalling which are apparently worth a lot to a lot of people. Not to me.

My point is that its all relative, if you are worth 500M, 200K is a rounding error. LOL...just saw this (Webster dictionary of meaning "its all relative") https://www.merriam-webster.com/dict...all%20relative

Exactly how I see it. 911 GT2 is my favorite 911 of all time. Not much of a fan of the RS variant. But with the GT3 RS having the same body as the GT2 RS. I don't see the reason to spend that kind of money. Judging from the market and how a lot of guys buy these cars and sell them so quickly. I feel at times they are like the new iPhones. Everyone wants them until the next one comes out. Once that happens the old ones become irrelevant. You don't even hear about the 997 GT2 RS anymore or it even being compared to the new one. Though opinions aren't everything. I'd hate to spend that kind of money and get viewed a few years from now it's "just a 911 with a big wing on the back"

Three Wheelin'
Bingo.
Part of the reason the 991 GT2RS is asking this premium is simply because it is the fastest and most powerful production Porsche to date. While it may not be numbered, it is a fact they will not mass produce this car. Also if you want to compare the 997 GT2RS back in 2011, it was numbered and more analog than the new one. If you look at the secondary market right now for 2011 997 GT2RS, most people selling them are asking twice what they paid. I repeat "asking." What that means is that people are still "willing" to pay for a car that served its purpose during its prime. If you meant compare in terms of performance, hands down the 2018 991 GT2RS will beat the 2011 997 GT2RS. It is Porsche's Kingkong.
I too with other car brands, I paid premium as I could not get the car at MSRP and really wanted the car. Let me put it this way , the money is good but the car I really WANT and LIKE is better.
As many have stated, it really is up to you depending on your financial capability if spending $200K premium will buy you that happiness. Life is short and you go around only once.

I didn't say 1M meant nothing to me. But one time I did spend $50 on a bottle of water while I was at a outdoor event, was that bad financial move....or course it was, but I really wanted that water.

There are configurable allocations out there for $100k-$150k from what I've heard. The premiums for the car will be under $100k by the end year.
