AP hints again at a manual 991.2 GT3

Preuninger also revealed that the 911 R’s new six-speed manual gearbox is likely to be offered in the second generation of the 991 GT3. “I can certainly imagine this gearbox in the GT3,” he said. “There is some overlap, with the 911 R for purists and the GT3 RS for track day fans, and then the GT3 in the middle. Right now it’s just with PDK, but I can certainly imagine gen-2 GT3 getting this manual transmission.”

It'll get a manual but what motor?

Why would one consider the GT3 to be in the middle, between the purist car and the track car? If it has greater power and torque, and the MT, isn't the R the one in the middle ranked from general to focused use?

Following up on my threat yesterday, I put a deposit down on a .2 GT3 in hopes of this happening.

Everyone has a glass ball so:
I think the GT line will stay PDK, GT4 could be going PDK as well.
This 991R opens up the door to yet another model designation within the 911, if you listen carefully he eludes to this by saying "it opens a niche""for another car for the purist", also referred to the manual as "the main issue".
Might be new model designation coming for "emotional cars", most likely with a 3.8 mated to this manual, standard roof, fenders and fenders, and fall in under the GT's, for the "purist".
I would like to drive one to see how raw in comparison with the 997RS.

Good decision - I would definitely reconsider a 3 with a manual.
