Finally got the car back. Dealership was nice enough to send me out in a Panamera 4S, but it wasn't the GT2 loaner I asked for

Basically the 5 week saga included:
New engine shipped from Germany
Fuel injector error fault - new fuel injector shipped in and installed
Pinched wiring harness during engine assembly/install resulting in short causing above fuel injector error
Slow oil leak from partially sealed crankcase on the new engine

Glad they caught everything before handing the car back to me, hats off to Porsche Beaverton for taking great care of me through the whole process.

Is there supposed to be a new sticker on the trunk lid indicating new engine VIN/serial? I just have the new serial number in my service invoice.

Those with their engines replaced - Do you experience any high RPM rattles coming from the back area? It sounds like a heat shield buzzing. I haven't taken it to 9k yet as it's still under 2k miles, but it's pretty annoying once you get up in RPMs. It definitely wasn't there before.
I'm hesitant to take it back to the dealer as the last thing I want them doing is romping on the car above 7k rpms for a couple of days to diagnose it. I know they launched my car at some point when I dropped it off for the motor replacement (as indicated by the G meter). I'd rather fix it myself if possible.

So now that we're getting some miles on the G series motors, how are they lasting?

Mine is fine after 11,000 kms. Got it in Jan '16 and it is fine. What is not so fine quite frankly, is to see how GT cars have dropped in value. They seem glued to the show room floors as well.

(Didn't see your post until today. Sorry.)

Yes, I have a sound like yours on my '16 RS - but on lower rpm's.
Unfortunately I have not found the exact source of the noise.

Did you fix yours in the end?

My 2015 F was replaced with the G last June at 20k miles. Almost 27k now and everything is fine.

I have about 3900 miles (about 450 of those are on track) and it's been running great.

After that original post I took my car back in for the PDK selector cable mount clip breaking (car wasn't engaging in Park), and when I installed my exhaust shortly after I noticed some of my bolts that hold the bumper and heat shields were loose from when the dealer removed these items for the new motor swap. Some of the heat shielding that surrounds the OEM exhaust were bent out of shape pretty badly too. I've bent back the heat shields as close as I could to how it left the factory, and the rattling has stopped. Hope you can find your fix!

What is the exact definition of “engine internals” that are covered by the 10/120k warranty?

has anyone 2nd+ owner who purchased a used GT3 used this warranty without run arounds or excuses?

I was second owner and John Castle (service advisor) at Tom Wood Porsche Indianapolis took great care of me through the whole process.

Glad to hear that

so did Porsche go out and replace everyone’s engine in 14/15 AND warranty it up til 10/120, or did they replace only certain # of engines that needed replacement, and warranty all 14/15 MY cars with the notion that if an engine needs replacing down the line, it will be honored?

I'm the original owner of my '15 GT3, which I've tracked, and my engine is now being replaced for the second time under warranty. I don't think you have to worry about the warranty not being honored for a used car, nor the full engine not being covered by warranty.

All 2014 (E) cars had engines replaced due to connecting rod screw failures which had resulted in at least 2 fires. Sales were also stopped for this. The extended engine internals warranty was prompted by finger follower wear issues and applies to all 991.1 GT3s 2014- 2016. Engines are replaced on a case by case basis. See the COG sticky.

Did your most recent engine that failed have a G6 serial number or was it an older G0 or F engine? Thanks
