I would suspect the .2 cars would be MY2017. If I was betting, I would lean more towards a 2017 allocation release and having the cars show up as MY2018.

Not necessarily, the 991 gt3, gt3 RS, Cayman gt4 and 981 Spyder that we know might be produced in early 2016 will be .1 or pre-face lift. They will be MY2016.

After face lift production 'change over' commences at Zuffenhausen later this calendar year 2015 and into 2016, those .2 991 'normal' models will be known as MY2017 (carrera, S, Targa, etc). But don't expect any gt3 RS to be in that category. PAG has not revealed plans for MY2017 in any of these other variants (gt3, gt3 RS, gt4, spyder). There is nothing yet that I have seen which I would characterize as 'encouraging'....but we remain always 'hopeful'.

Default some 991.2 tidbits

A not to wild guess would be that the 991.2gt3 is 2017 and 991.2 RS will be 2018.

So far the only public news has been talk of a 911 Hybrid and a GT2 RS. Porsche hit their "Strategy 2018" sales target last year so things are being rethought and brought forward.

I could be wrong (and probably am) but wasn't Nissan running the GT-R Nismo GT3 that was spec'd with the VR38DETT, a twin-turbocharged V6 engine, putting out 600 hp?
good point!

So are they talking Single Turbos with 3.0L? There would still be tremendous room for power improvement though I imagine most would be in smoothing out and opening up airflow internally since the ecu's are so difficult to crack now. That and faster revving engine's and a lighter rear end that's if all this hearsay is true. But I can't imagine Porsche making such a radical change just because of China. Maybe CAFE requirement's too - but this is all speculation. I just can't imagine su h a higher pitch coming from a 911S! Don't mind 430BHP...

I secured my spots on the 2, 3 and 4 RS just in case. Will skip the 3/2 if there is one.

I believe we will see 991.2 GT3 at Geneva march 2016 for MY2017 production followed the next year by RS in Geneva with MY2018 production. Back to the "normal" sequence. I think the 991 GT3 engine debacle upset this generations launch sequence.

It's a twin turbo. One for each bank.

China is Porsches 2nd largest market. Audi, BMW and others even make China specific versions of their mainstream cars. For example, the A4, A6 and 3er BMW all have significantly longer wheels bases with stretched doors. That's how important the China market is to the manufacturers.

Yup.

That's what I said up-above. Not conjecture.
