Wild that the 2 PTS spots that Orlando got both end up in the same color!

Deciding on a color is near impossible, particularly because they cannot be easily seen in person.
I've narrowed it down to eight for my classic Touring build, but can't seem to land on a color.
I'm all over the spectrum, from Viper Green to Signal Yellow to Irish Green to elegant Blues and some classy Greys too.
My only requirements are:
1) Vintage Porsche
2) Non-metallic
Other problem is most any color can be photographed to look great or not so great or plain ugly. Hard to find a color (other than traditional silvers, blacks, whites or some greys) that don't look poor in certain photographs.
For those with PTS experience, did you ever buy a color sight unseen?
If so, did it work out? And how did you narrow it down to only one or two choices?
My biggest fear: Buying a color and tiring of it (I can see this happening with the bolder colors). Has this ever happened to you? And if so, what color?
Thanks!

I think it's far more likely to become tired of a subdued color on the touring. If I were to select touring package and pay the 13k for PTS, I would go with a bold color. The touring spec already loses so much in the looks department by going wingless, it needs something to give it some life. You can't go wrong with colors like signal green, riviera blue and pastel orange. Think about how many of the touring specs will be grey, silver, black and white. Do you really want to spend 13k to join that list? The PTS selection process can be a tough one -- I wish you luck with it.

My existing whip is an '06 Carrera in PtS Maritime and I'd keep it but for the lack of a GT motor.

Yes, tough call, especially with so many options.
I bought my gelb grun GT4 without seeing that colour in the flesh.
Do you want to stand out or blend in? Eliminate the greys if you want to stand out.
Care about resale? stick with riviera, mexico maritime voodoo or one of the popular greens, like viper green.
Try to narrow it down, then look at numerous pictures of each with a clear, zen mind. Pick the one your soul smiles at most.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m encouraged to go bold. Jamie, that’s my problem, I don’t want the car to standout. Where I’m from, a Porsche 911 stands out a lot (even clad in all black). Just looking for a very nice color for a change. If I could have more than one, I’d be more inclined to do something wild. But after having all black, silver and grey cars, wild for me is probably still bland for you. Wild for me right now would be Irish Green. Big Magnus Walker fan, and watched this video over and over. Problem is most colors seem to not translate well from the classic Porsches of the past.
Never seen Irish Green looking this good on a 991. I think they messed with the color...

Scottsdale Auction Week Report
Went to Gooding this morning for special breakfast with David Gooding sponsored by Chubb.
Later attended the Keith Martin (Sportcar Market Letter) panel discussion on the state of the
collector market:
Our own C.J. 'Ichiban' was seating in just in front of me...so our forum was
well represented there!

Interestingly one of the cars there at Gooding for auction tomorrow is a
1985/1986 Porsche 944 Turbo Cup Car that I crewed for (mostly fueling)
in the SCCA Showroon Stock series - 1986 Escort Endurance Championship!
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1986_S...e_Championship
I knew well Jerry Nelson, one of the drivers & dealer principal at Schneider & Nelson
Porsche in NJ. We took this car everywhere - Sears Point, Mid-Ohio, Mosport, Nelson
Ledges, etc. You know you are getting old when they are auctioning off a car you (in
your mid-thirties then) actively participated in its racing history when it was brand new!

Missed the auction for a 1977 VW Cabriolet that I was trying to buy at Barrett-Jackson today (Thursday).
http://msclassiccarsllc.com/VehicleDetails.aspx?vid=505
The seller's staff at the event gave me wrong auction time info on the lot. Really dissappointed!
Sold for $23.5K plus commission. Not a bad price for the condition. I would have bought it had
I been there.

Back to Gooding tomorrow. Tom Scott's Pre-A 356 Cabriolet for sale there. Too expensive for
me...but just beautiful!
But notice its color...'Fashion Grey', an original Pre-A color you can still order PTS today!
