Well driven Maxi. a sub 2.42 with a passenger on a fairly stock car (geo + TrofeoR) is mighty impressive, and I dont think Ive seen anyone use the central shifter like that before yet either!
On a perfect day, in the right conditions Im betting you could pull off a 2.40! It goes to show how much difference the driver can make in the equation...

Just returned from an amazing two day Porsche Super Sport driving course at Portimao. What an amazing circuit. The elevation changes and the blind corners are much more dramatic in the flesh than on the Youtube videos. It's a very technical circuit where the simplest of mistakes really punish you.
The best I could do was 2:04. Given my level of experience, I was quite chuffed with the time only to be brought down the earth when I swapped seats with the group instructor who reeled off a 1:58.

Had a buddy who attended that event.. pics were incredible... I had never seen so many 918's on a track at same time before.. let alone the Cup cars etc

There were some very fast dudes there from all over the world lapping in the 2:01-2:02 in the RSs. 918s and Cup were of course much, much faster. The sound of a 918 on full noise down the main straight is glorious.

I would love to do the Portimao event. Saw they have a Sports event for about 3000eur and a Super Sport for over 10k. Which one did you do and do you get to drive flat out?

I did the two day Super Sport event. You spend the first half day with a track walk and 2hrs guided driving. After that its pretty much free driving with a vbox in the car. One of the instructors does a reference lap and then they overlay your laps to compare. In total you get around 10hrs of open pitlaadriving where you can drive as fast and as hard as you like. Top speed down the main straight is around 260kph.

Love that track, been there twice, last time in February.
The lap was in a GT3 with Cup parts and shot slicks, temperature around 18 deg celcius. With new tyres easy to shave off 2 seconds.

Went to a sponsored track day yesterday at Phillip Island GP Circuit, where they have the moto GP in Melbourne...definitely our best track, couldn't get a clean lap in with all the Ferraris going around at 1/4 throttle...
