Was at an ncrc event and my friend's friend had a 997s with PDK with a coolant temp sensor failure prior to track event. Never the less temp sensor was replaced but upon pickup there was very noticeable deep scratches on rear bumper upon pickup. The scratches was so deep it needs repainting. The gouges was so deep that I swear the service tech was wearing old school golf cleats and they never said nething until it was pointed out. In NorCal I can say servicewise that Sonnen and Snead- I got no problem with them servicing my car. Mike

Pete. Tropics = Vanuatu (where I live) :-).
Will be in CA in April. LA, Vegas. Not much good for a redux I suspect given you are in FL!
Xmas drive sounds the ticket. Will PM you contact details. Subaru is fine. Not sure on rental cars only know the main ones (Europcar, Hertz, Avis, Budget) who may provide the service you want. Pay for the reduced excess as they are all scoundrels.
50th anniversary with a CEL. Serves you right taking it to the track straight from the dealer. Seriously tho, its probably a ghost in the machine. More tech in the rear hub on one of those than the entire 964 engine ECU LOL!

Who knows I can make it next year, but Christmas it is and I'll check in before we leave for NZ in November :-)
Looked into the normal cars but one way looks like Subi is going to be it..
We did not take it to the track, just off the flat bed bantering about the neighborhood, it came with a laser blocker and detector installed along with some clear bro :-) well take it to Sebring soon, there was a 991 GT3 at Sebring this weekend, but I was not out there.. too hot.

For aggressive street driving, GT3 is preferred (stiff RS suspension required to cope with big downforce is going to make the car pretty unwieldy on less than perfect roads).

I concur with this ^^

I can't believe there isn't even a smidge of insider info leaked on the RS. The developement on the car is complete, correct? I'd settle for that Minichamps model at this point...
What happened to all the 'Deepthroats' around here?
There is a guy over on McLarenlife saying it is just barely more than a GT3; same 3.8L with 500bhp, PDK-S+, 21" rears & not much more.

I hope it is a return of the 4.0L which makes the expected $40k to $50k premium worthwhile. At least the prototypes seem to have design queues from the RSR rather than GT3 Cup...
